San Diego hires Ramsdell, Hunter as assistant coaches

SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Chargers hired John Ramsdell as quarterbacks coach and Hal Hunter as assistant offensive line coach on Monday.

The 51-year-old Ramsdell joins the Chargers from the St. Louis Rams, where he was quarterbacks coach from 1998-02 and from 2004-05. Ramsdell joined the Rams in 1995, serving as tight ends coach through the 1997 season. He spent the 2003 season as tight ends coach.

Hunter was offensive line coach at the University of North Carolina for the last four seasons. The 46-year-old previously was the offensive coordinator at Indiana, when Chargers offensive coordinator Cam Cameron was the coach.
