Dolphins put DT Wilkinson on IR, sign Page
DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins placed defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson on injured reserve Thursday with a calf injury, and signed defensive tackle Chase Page off the San Diego Chargers' practice squad.
Wilkinson was injured last week, and with only two games left in the season, the Dolphins put him on IR.
"In the two days of rehab that he had here, he was still unable to run and move around like we like," Dolphins coach Nick Saban said. "He was going to be in the same situation, probably a week to 10 days before he ever was really able to do anything."
Page was a seventh-round draft choice by the Chargers this year. He was waived by San Diego on Sept. 2, then signed to the Chargers' practice squad the next day.
Wilkinson, the No. 1 overall pick in the 1994 draft, played with Cincinnati, Washington and Detroit before signing with the Dolphins in August.
