Rivers out for one play with foot injury

SAN DIEGO (AP) -Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers missed one play while getting treatment for his injured right foot, then came back and threw a 33-yard touchdown pass to Antonio Gates.

Rivers was affected by the injury, though, pulling up each time he threw a pass. He limped off the field after his pass to Gates gave the Chargers a 10-7 lead with 10:25 left before halftime.

Rivers was 5-for-6 for 82 yards on the drive following the injury.

Rivers apparently was hurt when he was sacked by Chike Okeafor late in the first quarter. He limped off the field after missing badly on a third-down pass to Eric Parker. He was treated on the sideline, then tested the foot during the break at the end of the first quarter.

Second-string quarterback Billy Volek ran the Chargers for one play
