Ross has yet to play this season because of a hamstring injury and there is no telling when he might return. He is about the only inactive Fantasy player with some value when active. Most of the other players are reserves and barely factor. Keep them reserved for Week 9.

Hamstring - Missed Week 9 vs. San Diego (Updated - 11/8/09)

#12 Steve Smith
5-11, 195, Southern California
YEAR-TO-DATE STATS
GRECYDSYDS/RECLNGTD
96171911.8435

Fantasy Analysis
Smith had his first touchdown in five games in Week 9. It's pretty obvious to see who quarterback Eli Manning favors in the passing game. Smith hasn't been as effective lately as he was earlier in the season. But he is still a solid No. 2 Fantasy WR. The Giants don't play again until Week 11 against the Falcons (bye in Week 10).
#20 Michael Johnson
6-2, 207, Arizona
YEAR-TO-DATE STATS
GTCKSCKINTFUMRTD
9341110

Fantasy Analysis
Injuries have kept Johnson in the Giants' starting lineup in 2009. He is not making a ton of plays and filling the stat sheet, so he has low-end Fantasy appeal despite the interception.
#10 Eli Manning
6-4, 225, Mississippi
YEAR-TO-DATE STATS
GCMP %PYDSPTDSINTRTDS
960.020701580

Fantasy Analysis
Appropriately, the game ended with Shawne Merriman sacking Manning. San Diego drafted the linebacker in 2005 with one of the picks the Chargers got from the Giants in the Manning deal. Manning and the Giants should have had the last laugh in Week 9, but they made a lot of crucial mistakes late in the game. Manning didn't throw an interception for the first time in four games and also had his first multi-touchdown performance in four games. The Giants have a balanced offense, so we won't see a lot of eye-popping numbers from Manning, who is usually a No. 2 Fantasy QB. The Giants don't play again until Week 11 against the Falcons as they are on a bye in Week 10.

Fantasy Analysis
Boley dealt with a minor injury during the game, but was able to finish it out. He can be considered a low-end Fantasy LB when healthy. Canty is pretty much a run-stuffing tackle and has little to no Fantasy appeal.

#89 Kevin Boss
6-6, 253, Western Oregon
YEAR-TO-DATE STATS
GRECYDSYDS/RECLNGTD

Fantasy Analysis
Boss was knocked out of the game in Week 9 for a few plays after getting his bell rung in the second quarter. But he returned and the touchdown pretty much did away with any speculation about lingering effects. The Giants are on a bye in Week 10, so Boss gets some time to rest up. Consider him a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy TE in Week 11 against the Falcons.
#88 Hakeem Nicks
6-0, 215, North Carolina
YEAR-TO-DATE STATS
GRECYDSYDS/RECLNGTD
72340717.7624

Fantasy Analysis
Nicks has failed to score in two straight games after doing so in four straight. Still, he is having a solid rookie season and has become a more relevant part of the Giants offense in recent weeks. Nicks is more of a No. 4 Fantasy or flex option for Week 11 against the Falcons (Giants are on a bye in Week 10).

YEAR-TO-DATE STATS

Fantasy Analysis
Umenyiora hasn't been as good of a playmaker as before his knee injury. He has shown glimpses of his potential in 2009, but we are still a little disappointed with his production. You still could do a lot worse in Fantasy, so Umenyiora remains a decent start in IDP leagues.

Robbins has not missed a game in 2009 after dealing with a preseason knee injury. Still, his production has been weak, especially in the sack department. Robbins continues to have low-end Fantasy appeal.

#87 Domenik Hixon

YEAR-TO-DATE STATS
GRECYDSYDS/RECLNGTD

Fantasy Analysis
It was just last season that Hixon was emerging as the Giants' go-to-receiver after the team lost Plaxico Burress. Now, Hixon is buried on the depth chart behind the likes of Steve Smith, Mario Manningham and Hakeem Nicks. Hixon is not worth playing in Fantasy. The Giants don't play again until Week 11 against the Falcons (bye in Week 10).

Injury Report
Wrist - Likely out for the season (Updated - 11/9/09)
Fantasy Analysis
The fourth-year pro had a team-high 12 special teams tackles, including on the opening kickoff of the second half. He has no Fantasy value and does not need to be on any rosters at this point.
#27 Brandon Jacobs
6-4, 264, Southern Illinois
YEAR-TO-DATE STATS
GRATTRYDSTDRECYDSTD
9151617210560

Fantasy Analysis
Jacobs sat on the sidelines for a few play after coming up gimpy in the second half. He had his knee checked out, but eventually returned. Jacobs does get dinged up at times, but it seems he dodged a serious injury and the bye comes at an ideal time. We have been disappointed with Jacobs' performance in 2009. He definitely wants the ball more, but New York likes to throw Ahmad Bradshaw in there as well. Consider Jacobs a No. 2 Fantasy RB in Week 11 when New York returns to action.

Fantasy Analysis
Tynes has missed four field goals in 2009, and if you count the Week 9 blunder, it is up to five. He is still posting some nice numbers because the Giants can move the football. So despite his inaccurate ways, Tynes remains a viable Fantasy kicker. The Giants are on a bye in Week 10 and don't return to action until Week 11 against the Falcons.

#44 Ahmad Bradshaw

YEAR-TO-DATE STATS

Fantasy Analysis
It was tough to see Bradshaw average less than 3.0 yards per carry against San Diego since he came into the game averaging 5.3 yards on the season. His performance has really tanked the last few weeks as a nagging ankle/foot injury continues to hobble him. Bradshaw is going to play through the injury and will get extra time to rest during the bye in Week 10. But he is still more of a No. 3 Fantasy RB or flex option when New York returns to action in Week 11 against the Falcons.

Fantasy Analysis
Ware only returned to action a few weeks back after breaking his arm in the opener. He primarily is a kick returner and is third on the Giants depth chart. Until that changes, he has little to no Fantasy appeal. The Giants don't play again until Week 11 against the Falcons (bye in Week 10).

Fantasy Analysis
Manningham has emerged in 2009 as the Giants' second best wide receiver behind Steve Smith. He bounced back well from the shoulder injury and now gets another week to rest during the team's bye in Week 10. Manningham has just one 100-yard game this season and is mostly around the 50-yard barrier. Consider him a No. 4 Fantasy WR or flex option for Week 11 against Atlanta.
#24 Terrell Thomas

YEAR-TO-DATE STATS
GTCKSCKINTFUMRTD

Fantasy Analysis
Thomas has really benefited from the absence of Aaron Ross, who has been out all season with a hamstring injury. Thomas is making a lot of plays in the secondary and can be considered a nice low-end Fantasy DB.
