The defense gave up too many big plays and the Rams were embarrassed when San Francisco scored a TD on a fake FG. The offense showed some life but was burned by too many drive-stalling miscues. Outside of recovering an onside kick, the special teams units were inconsistent. -- Ron Clements, RapidReports Correspondent
12/22/11DF
The Rams allowed 169 yards rushing and amassed just 232 offensive yards of their own. They got shut out. They got Steven Jackson 1,000 yards. They got home for Christmas Eve dinner. That’s about their performance in a nutshell. One more game until the offseason. -- Chuck Finder, RapidReports Correspondent
12/15/11FD-
The offense did not convert a third down until late in the fourth quarter and finished 2-of-13 on third-down conversions. They repeatedly threw it on third-and-short and run it on third-and-long. They were flagged 10 times for 109 yards, including several late 15-yarders. On special teams, they allowed a 56-yard punt return and missed a FG. -- Ron Clements, RapidReports Correspondent
12/08/11D-D-
The offense was again inept, defensive effort admirable, special teams poor and coaching suspect. The best evidence of the latter is that the Rams threw the ball three times from the 1-yard line before handing it to 240-pound Pro Bowl RB Steven Jackson, who scored on fourth-and-goal. Sam Bradford very much looked like a quarterback who hadn't practiced in a while. -- John Boyle, RapidReports Correspondent
12/01/11D-D
The Rams managed only 157 yards of offense and ten first downs, numbers that are pathetic even by their lowly standards. They converted just 3-of-13 third downs, averaged 1.3 yards per rushing play, and QB A.J. Feeley was sacked four times and turned it over twice. Then there was the defense, which played really bad. -- Michael Erler, RapidReports Correspondent
11/24/11DD
The defense was solid, but couldn't stop the Cardinals on two late third-down conversions and allowed more than 250 rushing yards. The offense sputtered, as usual. The Rams scored on a punt return, but also allowed a punt return and missed a FG. -- Ron Clements, RapidReports Correspondent
11/17/11DC
The offense couldn't get anything going and again wasted a solid defensive effort. Sam Bradford completed just 20 of 40 pass attempts, was sacked fives times, fumbled twice and threw an INT. Steven Jackson saw his three-game streak of 100-yard games come to an end with a dismal 42 yards on 15 carries. -- Ron Clements, RapidReports Correspondent
11/10/11CD
The Rams lucked out on a bad snap by the Browns to sneak out with a victory. They didn't do anything particularly well, though RB Steven Jackson allowed them to control the ball at times. This was not a strong performance, but rather a statement regarding a mistake-prone game by the Browns. -- Marty Gitlin, RapidReports Correspondent
11/03/11DA
QB Sam Bradford's return did little to spark an anemic offense that did little to bail out a defense that played great. Special teams let the Rams down, with a blocked FG at the end of regulation and a punt return for a TD to beat them. Coach Steve Spagnuolo's clock management definitely has to come into question. -- Ron Clements, RapidReports Correspondent
10/27/11AD+
The tackling woes that plagued the Rams last week at Dallas were non-existent. They held the Saints to just two offensive scores, did not surrender a play of more than 25 yards and converted two INTs into TDs. RB Steven Jackson played inspired football, rushing for 159 yards and two scores. -- Ron Clements, RapidReports Correspondent
10/20/11D+D
The problem areas continued for the Rams, including a run defense that was the worst in the league and it didn't get any better, yielding a 91-yard TD run on the first series. The addition of WR Brandon Lloyd will certainly help the offense over time. Credit the Rams for continuing to fight, but they were outmanned on this game. -- Nick Eatman, RapidReports Correspondent
10/13/11DD
Dropped passes, questionable play calling, penalties and red zone troubles doomed the offense. The Packers picked on CB Justin King to the tune of two TDs and WR Greg Jennings hauling in six passes for 82 yards. The Rams offense rolled up more than 400 yards, but only scored three points. -- Rom Clements, RapidReports Correspondent
10/06/11DA
The offensive and defensive lines were dominated by a Detroit team that hasn't dominated anyone in years. Steven Jackson was ineffective and Sam Bradford looked like the rookie he is. All in all, an abysmal performance. -- John Kreger, RapidReports Correspondent
09/29/11DF
The Rams nearly came back but continue to be plagued by self-inflicted mistakes. WR Mike Sims-Walker had three drops and TE Lance Kendricks also had one. St. Louis was penalized nine times for 65 yards, several of which halted potential scoring drives. QB Sam Bradford was also sacked six times. -- Ron Clements, RapidReports Correspondent
09/22/11FC+
The Rams offense was anemic with QB Sam Bradford under constant pressure. The Rams were outgained 553-244 and had just 81 total yards at halftime while trailing 27-0. Several penalties squelched would-be promising drives and there were again a few drops by the receivers. -- Ron Clements, RapidReports Correspondent
09/15/11C+D
Despite losing 28-16, the Rams played admirably given their injuries at RB, WR and in the secondary. St. Louis outgained New York 367 yards to 300 and got remarkable performances from WR Danario Alexander, WR Brandon Gibson and WR Mike Sims-Walker, who combined for 266 receiving yards. The defense had its moments, but ultimately depth issues in the secondary allowed the Giants to pull away in the second half. -- Alex Raskin, RapidReports Correspondent
09/08/11D-
The offense was stagnant as RT Jason Smith had trouble pass blocking. QB Sam Bradford was erratic. Six dropped passes didn't help. Defensively the Rams couldn't keep up with DeSean Jackson and couldn't contain Michael Vick. The run defense was spotty. -- Ron Clements, RapidReports Correspondent
