It was an all-around debacle for Washington Sunday as each unit played a role in the Redskins worst loss of the season. The special teams had a kick blocked. The offense could only manage 10 points despite moving the ball well and the defense allowed 34 points, marking the fourth time in the last five games that they had surrendered at least 30 points. They were in the game, yet couldn't capitalize and blew it in the fourth.

The Redskins blew a chance to gather end-of-the-season momentum after a good win at New York a week ago. Instead, they let a 2-12 team beat them at home. The offense moved the ball, but settled for two short field goals and, as usual, turned it over twice. The defense allowed too many big plays, a problem that had not bothered them in recent games. -- John Keim, RapidReports Correspondent

The Redskins completely dominated the New York Giants on both sides of the ball in their 23-10 win Sunday. The offense deserves credit for sticking with a ground game that wasn't great but was consistent. That set up terrific play-action fake passes. Defensively, they were aided by key drops, but did a good job of limiting big plays and they intercepted three passes. -- John Keim, RapidReports Correspondent
12/08/11B+C-
They played the sort of game nobody expected, matching offensive firepower vs. New England with a creative offensive attack. They gained a season-high 463 yards of offense. But the defense missed too many tackles and allowed too many yards after the catch in allowing New England to score 34 points and gain 431 yards. They managed an interception in the end zone to stop one drive. -- John Keim, RapidReports Correspondent
12/01/11C-A-
The Redskins' defense could not stop the Jets when needed in the fourth quarter and the offense failed to capitalize on excellent field position on several drives. Rex Grossman was awful, lacking poise in the pocket and missing targets. After snapping a six-game skid last week, the Redskins proved that they remain a bad team. -- John Keim, RapidReports Correspondent
11/24/11A-B+
Ending a six-game losing streak is obviously a positive. Aside from throwing two picks, Rex Grossman played one of his best games of the season, and rookie RB Roy Helu came through with a big game. While RB Marshawn Lynch was able to find some success running the ball, Seattle could not throw against the Redskins defense, totaling just 126 yards through the air. -- John Boyle, RapidReports Correspondent
11/17/11B+D
The Redskins did an excellent job offensively. Rex Grossman had enough time to find open targets downfield. Defensively, the Redskins were stung by big pass plays, but the defense's early effort allowed the offense time to get into a rhythm. Special teams finally provided big plays, but two missed field goals -- one in overtime -- hurt them. Still, a blowout was anticipated. -- John Keim, RapidReports Correspondent
11/10/11DD
The Redskins didn't do much of anything positive all day. They missed two FGs, threw an INT at Miami's 5-yard line, struggled to run the ball and allowed a team that had lost 12 of its previous 13 home games to win. -- Chris Perkins, RapidReports Correspondent
11/03/11DF
The Redskins were never really in this game. Coach Mike Shanahan inserted three rookies into the starting lineup, but they provided no spark. QB John Beck continues to be ineffective and not all of that can be blamed on the playcalling. Beck's status as a starter should be in question. Defensively, they failed to help the offense enough. -- John Keim, RapidReports Correspondent
10/27/11FD
Rex Grossman wasn't the answer at QB, and it doesn't look like John Beck is either. Beck was uncomfortable in the pocket and tossed two interceptions. He didn't receive any help from his battered and bruised offensive line, but it was an all-around dreadful effort. -- Mark Ludwiczak, RapidReports Correspondent
10/20/11DC
The Redskins were hurting and they lost even more players. But the offense had no rhythm early in John Beck's first start and the defense was unable to stop the Panthers most of the game. They also couldn't force any turnovers against a team that has struggled in that area. The offensive coaches sometimes seem stuck between who they want to be vs. who they are. -- John Keim, RapidReports Correspondent
10/13/11CB-
The Redskins' offense managed to get nothing going against a struggling defense. Their running game was non-existent, in part because of two injuries along the line. They rightly benched Rex Grossman for John Beck in the fourth quarter. The defense was excellent in the second half, but they couldn't stop them when needed late. -- John Keim, RapidReports Correspondent
10/06/11BA-
The Redskins' defense did a nice job with adjustments, staying creative with its looks and then getting a little more aggressive with blitzes. It worked, as Aaron Rodgers hesitated at times. The offense generated little until the fourth quarter. -- John Keim, RapidReports Correspondent
09/29/11B-B-
The Redskins took advantage of some sloppy play by the Rams to grab an early lead and hung on late to win. It wasn't pretty but Washington did enough. RB Ryan Torain recorded the team's first 100-yard rushing game of the year and the defense recorded seven sacks. -- Ron Clements, RapidReports Correspondent
09/22/11B-B
The Redskins aren't into moral victories but they certainly played well enough to win. A few untimely mistakes doomed them late, but their effort Monday should be a sign of the team they'll have all year. Defensively, it has to be demoralizing to keep the Cowboys out of the end zone and lose. -- Nick Eatman, RapidReports Correspondent
09/15/11BA
The Redskins played sloppy in the first half, but they maintained their pressure defensively and QB Rex Grossman led a late touchdown drive with short outs that picked up good yards after the catch. They did a good job of incorporating rookie RB Roy Helu in their rally from a late eight-point deficit. -- John Keim, RapidReports Correspondent
09/08/11A-
The Redskins could not run the ball the way they wanted, but they found a way to move by attacking the Giants' pass defense. Smart move. Washington also stayed aggressive defensively, with numerous blitzes to force QB Eli Manning into hurried throws. It was a terrific way to open the season. -- John Keim, RapidReports Correspondent
