08/29/16WRDevin FullerShoulderDOUBTFULFuller (shoulder) may need surgery to repair an unspecified shoulder injury, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Fuller, the Falcons' seventh-round pick from LSU, suffered the injury during Thursday's preseason tilt against the Dolphins. However, he was drafted with the expectation he would earn a job returning kickoffs, but fellow rookie J.D. McKissic has been the most impressive candidate for the role thus far into the preseason. Now injured and potentially sidelined indefinitely, Fuller appears to be a long shot to make Atlanta's final 53-man roster ahead of Week 1.

08/26/16DLAdrian ClaybornShoulderPROBABLEClayborn (shoulder) is expected back for Week 1, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.

Clayborn was scheduled for an MRI on Friday, after injuring his shoulder during Thursday's preseason game against the Dolphins. He's expected to start at left defensive end, but he may lose a lot of snaps to Brooks Reed and/or Dwight Freeney.

08/26/16WRJustin HardyAnkleQUESTIONABLEHardy suffered an ankle injury in Thursday's preseason matchup with the Dolphins and will not return to the game.

The Falcons would rather be safe than sorry as they give the wideout the rest of the night off. Hardy will join Julio Jones on the sidelines for the remainder of the game, who also suffered some sort of ankle injury on Thursday night. The severity of the injury is still unknown, but expect more clarity on the matter once the team releases information in the next couple of days.

08/26/16WRJulio JonesAnklePROBABLEJones (ankle) missed a second consecutive practice Monday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.

Removed from Thursday's preseason game against the Dolphins with an ankle injury, Jones said afterward that he would have kept playing if it had been a regular-season contest. Already accustomed to producing at an elite level while nicked up, Jones still has nearly two weeks to prepare for Atlanta's opener against Tampa Bay. There won't be any cause for concern unless Jones is still absent from practice heading into next week.

08/26/16DBKeanu NealKneeQUESTIONABLENeal (torso) injured his knee in Thursday's preseason loss to the Dolphins, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Neal is dealing with his second injury of the preseason. First it was a torso strain that kept him out of the team's first preseason game and now his knee injury. Despite being dinged up a bit, the rookie did tell teammates that he didn't think the injury was serious and he expects to play in the teams Week 1 matchup with Tampa Bay.

08/26/16RBBrandon WildsKneePROBABLEWilds suffered a knee injury Thursday and did not return, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the AJC reports.

The rookie running back suffered the injury late in Thursday's contest, so the fact that he did not return does not necessarily mean that he's dealing with anything serious. Still, any additional missed time for Wilds could be problematic for a running back fighting for a roster spot with cuts looming. Prior to leaving the game, Wilds actually led the Falcons in rushing Thursday, taking three carries for 11 yards against a Dolphins defense that allowed just 31 yards on the ground.

08/25/16KMatt BryantUndisclosedPROBABLEBryant will not play in Thursday's preseason matchup with Miami for undisclosed reasons.

Bryant is coming off of an injury shortened 2015 that saw him connect on just 14-of-18 field goals. Entering his age-40 season, the veteran kicker is competing with Shayne Graham, who replaced Bryant for the final six games of the season last year, for the kicker spot. Bryant's absence will give Graham a few extra in game reps in Thursday's game.

08/25/16LBDwight FreeneyBackQUESTIONABLEFreeney (back) returned to practice on Monday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.

Freeney has been dealing with a back strain throughout the preseason, which kept him off the field for Thursday's preseason loss to the Dolphins. While he did return to practice, it seems unlikely the coaching will risk the chance of the injury becoming worse and will keep the veteran on the sidelines for Thursday's preseason finale against the Jaguars.

08/19/16DLVic BeasleyShoulderPROBABLEBeasley has a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder, but he's still expected to play in Atlanta's third preseason game, ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports.

Beasley missed Thursday's preseason game against the Browns, and while he may end up sitting out another exhibition, this doesn't sound like a threat to his Week 1 availability. Selected eighth overall in the 2015 NFL Draft, Beasley had just 20 tackles and four sacks while working in a part-time role as a rookie. He's expected to start and take on a considerable snap count this season, working as a hybrid linebacker/defensive end, with his role mostly focused on getting after the quarterback.

08/12/16DBKemal IshmaelShoulderPROBABLEIshmael (shoulder) will not practice Sunday, Vaugn McClure of ESPN.com reports.

Original expectations had Ishmael returning to the practice field Sunday. However, it appears he's not completely over the injury and will take another day off for further rest and recovery. The injury isn't considered to be serious, so look for the 25-year-old safety to be back on the field later in the week.

08/10/16RBTerron WardAnklePROBABLEWard (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's preseason matchup with the Dolphins.

Ward hasn't played so far this preseason and it's unclear if he'll be able to return for the team's final go before the regular season, next Thursday against the Jaguars. He's expected to be the team's No. 3 option at running back, behind Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman, but his lengthy absence will again open the door Gus Johnson to take a shot at that role with added game snaps on Thursday.

07/29/16DBJalen CollinsSuspensionSUSPENDCollins has been suspended for the first four games of the upcoming season for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

Collins is still eligible to partake in all offseason and preseason activities, but will have to miss the first quarter of the regular season. A second round selection last year, Collins was hoping to carve out a larger role in the Falcons' secondary this term, and although he very well may still, his absence will open opportunities for his teammates to begin the campaign.

05/25/16LBBrooks ReedShoulderPROBABLEReed was limited to 17 tackles in 13 games with the Falcons in 2015.

Reed failed to record a sack for the first time in his career, and he only played in 32.9 percent of the defensive snaps. He has four years remaining on his contract, so Dan Quinn will need to find new ways to get production out of Reed in 2016.
