10/06/15RBLance DunbarKneeOUTCowboys running back Lance Dunbar is slated to undergo surgery to repair his torn left ACL, ESPN.com reports.

Per the report, Dunbar -- who is a candidate for IR -- also suffered a partially torn MCL during Sunday's game against the Saints. Now that he is no longer in the Cowboys' backfield mix, Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden and Christine Michael are left to handle the team's running back duties going forward.

10/05/15WRBrice ButlerHamstringLEFTCowboys wide receiver Brice Butler (hamstring) is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Patriots, Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Butler strained a hamstring on his first catch of the season, a 67-yard grab in New Orleans on Sunday night. With the first practice of the week imminent Wednesday, head coach Jason Garrett will be afforded his first chance to clarify Butler's status. If he's deemed inactive this Sunday, Butler's next opportunity to play arrives on Oct. 25 against the Giants after the Cowboys' Week 6 bye.

10/04/15WRDez BryantFootOUTCowboys owner Jerry Jones said he thinks wide receiver Dez Bryant (foot) has a chance to return for Week 7 against the Giants, The Dallas Morning News reports.

Week 7 represents an absolute best-case scenario, as the Cowboys have acknowledged all along Bryant will at least be out through the Week 6 bye. With his recovery going well, Bryant could be back for Week 7 or Week 8, but it's also quite possible he'll need a few weeks beyond that to heal.

10/04/15LBSean LeeConcussionLEFTCowboys owner Jerry Jones expects linebacker Sean Lee (concussion) to play against the Patriots on Sunday, The Dallas Morning News reports.

Lee has a long history of injury concerns, but concussions haven't been one of his bigger issues. Of course, recovery from concussions is tough to predict, and Lee still needs to make it through the NFL's protocol. He suffered the injury during Sunday's loss to the Saints, leaving him with 36 tackles through the first four games of the season.
