Jets' Muhammad Wilkerson: Could be ready for Week 1
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wikerson said Wednesday that he expects to be fully recovered from his broken right leg in time to play in Week 1, the Associated Press reports.

Wilkerson, who suffered the injury in the last week of the 2015 season, didn't specify when he would be able to start participating in training camp, but that his rehab is progressing quickly. He recently signed a new five-year, $85 million contract and is expected to be a major focal point of the Jets' pass rush after picking up 12 sacks last year.

Jets' Khiry Robinson: Could participate in preseason
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Although he may start training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list, Robinson (leg) should be available at some point during the preseason, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.

Robinson is still making his way back from the broken tibia he suffered Nov. 1 in what would ultimately be the final game of his three-year stint with the Saints. The 220-pound former UDFA isn't known for his quickness or pass-catching skills, but he did display a powerful running style in New Orleans when he was healthy, even drawing occasional comparisons to former Saint (and Jet) Chris Ivory. The Jets added Robinson in March on a one-year, $1.175 million deal to help offset the loss of Jacksonville-bound Ivory, but the team also gave much larger contracts to fellow running backs Matt Forte (three years, $12 million) and Bilal Powell (three years, $11.25 million). Both known for their receiving skills, Forte and Powell are better fits than Robinson in OC Chan Gailey's spread-heavy offense, and yet it isn't out of the question that Robinson could still earn a role. Should he prove his health by the end of the preseason, the 26-year-old power back might emerge as a serious threat to poach goal-line and short-yardage work.

Jets' Muhammad Wilkerson: Signs multi-year extension
by RotoWire Staff | Special to

Wilkerson has signed a multi-year extension to remain with the Jets.

Wilkerson's deal is for five years and worth roughly $85 million overall, reports. While there's no question about his talent, Wilkerson's deal comes as a surprise because it was announced so close to Friday's deadline, and his situation was relatively quiet leading up to the last minute. Nonetheless, the Jets have now secured their 2011 first-rounder for the long haul, solidifying one of the league's best defensive line units. In 16 games last season, Wilkerson posted a career-high 12 sacks to go with 64 tackles, earning his first Pro Bowl selection along the way.
