Angels' Huston Street: On for spring debut
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Street (knee) is making his 2017 Cactus League debut Friday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Coming off a 6.45 ERA during (surprise) an injury-shortened 2016, Street is battling for the closer role with Cam Bedrosian (groin) and Andrew Bailey, among others. His body of work and name recognition may land him the job initially, but it's wise for fantasy players to remain skeptical, especially considering his health issues and the talent Bedrosian boasts when healthy.

Athletics' Stephen Vogt: Designated for assignment
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Athletics designated Vogt for assignment Thursday, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

Despite Vogt's down year (.217/.287/.357 in 174 plate appearances), this comes as a bit of a surprise, considering he was an All-Star the previous two seasons. Still, Oakland has decided to move on from the 32-year-old, instead focusing more on Josh Phegley and Bruce Maxwell. Vogt should catch on in some form with another organization, and his future role is worth tracking considering he, even with a part-time role, can help two-catcher fantasy players. In all likelihood, he'll land in a better offensive home park, as well.

Golden Knights' Colin Miller: Tabbed in NHL Expansion Draft
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Miller was selected by the Golden Knights on Wednesday in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft, NHL.com reports.

There's still a chance that Vegas might flip him in a trade, but for now Miller, who logged six goals and 13 points in 61 games for the Bruins last season, brings an intriguing mix of speed and shooting velocity to the new franchise's blue line mix. Part of the reason that Boston exposed Miller in the expansion draft, despite his upside, is that puck management and positioning remain a work in progress for the the 24-year-old 103 games into his NHL career. Should he earn regular power play time this coming season, Miller could find himself on the fantasy radar, but as is the case with most of the players added by Vegas on Wednesday, the defender's future and role with the organization have yet to be determined.

Pirates' Francisco Cervelli: Returns to concussion list
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Cervelli is headed back to the 7-day disabled list after experiencing illness and "post-concussion symptoms" stemming from the initial injury he suffered in early June, Stephen J. Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Cervelli has not played in the last two games after going 1-for-3 in Monday's series opener against Milwaukee. The 31-year-old landed on the concussion DL on June 7 after taking a foul ball off his mask during a game. He subsequently came back right after he was eligible on June 14, but has been dealing with an ongoing illness over the past two days that has forced the team to make this move. The Pirates have yet to announce a corresponding move but Elias Diaz, and Chris Stewart will help out behind the plate until Cervelli is good to return.

Rangers' Carlos Gomez: Returns to lineup Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gomez is batting sixth and playing center field Thursday, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Go-Go took a break Wednesday but is back in action for the Rangers. In his five games since returning from the disabled list, Gomez is 6-for-19 with three home runs and nine RBI, reminding his fantasy owners why they're happy to have him back.
