David Rundblad: Agrees to mutual termination of contract
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rundblad and the Blackhawks mutually agreed to a termination of the defender's contract Tuesday, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Rundblad was originally drafted by the Blues with the 17th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, and went on to spend time with the Senators and Coyotes before joining the Blackhawks via trade in March of 2014. The Swedish blueliner was never able to carve out a significant role with Chicago, notching just 16 points (three goals, 13 assists) over 63 games during his three years with the club. It remains to be seen if Rundblad will sign with another NHL organization ahead of the 2016-17 campaign, but if not, he'll likely head over seas to continue his career.

Flyers' Brandon Manning: Re-signs with Flyers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Manning agreed to terms on a new two-year deal with Philadelphia on Tuesday worth $1.95 million, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Manning notched his first NHL goal this past season, in addition to reaching career highs in assists (6) and games played (56). The 26-year-old's signing will certainly help the Flyers organization given his defensive strengths, but his limited offensive production severely hampers his fantasy value; unless owners are looking for PIM, hits, and blocked shots.

Rays' Matt Moore: Drawing strong trade interest around majors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Moore is one of several Rays players drawing strong trade interest around the majors, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 27-year-old southpaw has put together five consecutive quality starts, and brings the allure of a solid lefty arm that is typically coveted by contending teams down the stretch and in the postseason. Moore has hit his stride over the last eight starts, lowering his ERA from 5.56 to 4.31 over that stretch. He's only generated a 4-3 record during that span, but has notably only received a combined five runs of support over the trio of defeats.

Rays' Chris Archer: Drawing strong trade interest around majors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Archer is one of several Rays pitchers drawing strong trade interest around the majors, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 27-year-old has endured the most difficult season of his career, matching his career high in losses (13) while giving up five or more runs in six starts. Archer has certainly shown flashes, however, and has actually enjoyed his best month of the season in July, during which he's generated a respectable 3.96 ERA over four starts. There's plenty of firepower in his arm as well, with his 147 whiffs over 123.1 innings ranking at the top of the AL and fifth in the majors. Given Archer's considerable potential and velocity, he might shape up as the most tantalizing among the three Rays starters (along with Matt Moore and Jake Odorizzi) to other clubs despite his current struggles.

Pirates' Jung Ho Kang: Investigation not yet complete
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The investigation into Kang's alleged sexual assault case continues and the Chicago police have given no indication as to when the incident might be resolved, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The case is still being actively investigated, with witnesses being interviewed and additional witnesses being sought out. The woman allegedly assaulted did not cooperate with the police initially, but filed a complaint 10 days after the incident. No charges have been filed against Kang, but we'll have to wait until the investigation is complete for further guidance.
