Panthers' Jonathan Stewart: Gains 29 yards rushing, scores touchdown in Super Bowl loss
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Stewart gained 29 yards on 12 carries and scored a rushing touchdown, while securing one of two targets for a loss of one yard in Sunday's 24-10 Super Bowl loss to the Broncos.

The eight-year veteran, who endured foot and ankle ailments late in the season and postseason, avoided serious injury in the first quarter after his left leg was trapped under several players following a run and he was momentarily bent backward at an awkward angle. Stewart limped off the field and returned late in the period, eventually diving into the end zone from one-yard out early in the second quarter to close out a nine-play, 73-yard drive. The 28-year-old otherwise found tough sledding against a ferocious Denver front that yielded little on the day. Although his season concluded with a thud, Stewart gave the Panthers reason to believe he is capable of carrying out the feature back role effectively, gaining 989 yards and six touchdowns on the ground in 13 regular season contests.

Canadiens' Max Pacioretty: Pots 20th of the season
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Max Pacioretty scored the team's lone goal in Sunday's shootout win over the Hurricanes.

There wasn't much offense in this one, but Pacioretty got the Habs on the board midway through the second frame, which was enough to force overtime and the eventual shootout. The 27-year-old hit the 20-goal plateau for the fourth time in his career with the tally and is on his way to another 60-point campaign.

Canadiens' Ben Scrivens: Terrific in win Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ben Scrivens stopped 34 of 35 shots in Sunday's win over the Hurricanes.

Scrivens also turned aside all five shots in the shootout, as he put together a terrific performance after allowing a goal just 2:27 into the game. The 29-year-old has now turned in back-to-back one-goal performances, so he could continue to see some time in net over Mike Condon while he's hot.

Hurricanes' Kris Versteeg: Held off scoresheet in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kris Versteeg riffled five shots on net in Sunday's loss to the Canadiens.

Versteeg has now been held off the scoresheet in all three contests since the All-Star break, but he was more active around the net in this one. The 29-year-old is shooting at just an 8.7% clip, the second lowest mark in his career, so he could benefit from a bit better luck.

Hurricanes' Elias Lindholm: Held off scoresheet in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Elias Lindholm finished with a minus-1 rating in Sunday's loss to the Canadiens.

Lindholm also skated 20:03 worth of ice time in the contest, his highest total in that department in eight games, and had a chance in the shootout, but was denied by Ben Scrivens. The 21-year-old currently sits at 24 points through 55 games, while sporting a minus-9 rating.
