They played the Saints tough twice with a lot of injuries. That has to give them hope heading into next season. They have to work on fixing that defense.

If not for injuries, I still think this would have been a playoff team. There's a strong foundation with quarterback Matt Ryan.

If they win their last game, the Falcons will have back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in franchise history. That would be special.
12/22/20091919
You have to give Mike Smith credit for keeping this team playing hard with nothing to play for against the Jets. They have a chance to have back-to-back winning seasons.
12/15/20091915
They've just had way too many injuries, but they played a heck of a game against the Saints. They'll fight this week against the Jets.
12/08/20091514
This banged-up team is in real danger of missing the playoffs. They've just been hit by too many injuries on the offensive side. And here come the Saints.
12/01/20091415
Matt Ryan won't play this week, which means Chris Redman will have their playoff hopes on his right arm against the Eagles. Can he play as well as he did last week, now that they know he's coming?
11/24/20091514
They have three consecutive homes games to turn their season back around. The defense just gives up too many big plays.
11/17/20091411
With Michael Turner down with an ankle sprain, it's time Matt Ryan truly takes over the offense. He has been struggling, and that has to stop.
11/10/20091115
They have to be thrilled with how their coach took up for them on the sideline last week. Mike Smith doesn't back down, and neither do his players. They have to be careful at Carolina this week.

I'm usually not so big on doing the mock draft thing.  But the Falcons are lined up to have a real shot at taking it all in 2010.

If the team can sign its own free agents (particularly Brian Williams,

There's one more All Star game to go.  And great news - it will be on cable/satellite TV.

It's the Texas Vs. The Nation game, and it's now scheduled to air on the CBS College Sports channel.  Practices are already underway, and the game is this Saturday at 2pm Eastern.

So why should anyone care?   Well, THREE of the eight

I'm expecting to hear any day that the Falcons have signed yet another place kicker.  The team has worked out a bunch of them, but so far we haven't had news of signing anyone.

The one I'm thinking we'll get is Damon Duval.  His workout session was OUTSTANDING.  He hit everything, including field goal attempts fr

Remember when the Cleveland Browns had all that trouble with staph infections?  Well, the Falcons have just hired their former head trainer and two assistants for our own training staph, er, staff.

I'm sure we'll hear questions about whether we really upgraded by re

The short version of the CBA talks =  nothing's happening.  At least nothing good.  We're now 90% likely (and rising) to have 2010 as an uncapped year.  (We're also starting to feel the possibility of a lockout/strike in 2011.   It's getting ugly.)

But...  if we assume that we will actually have NFL Football in 2011, the odds are that the new deal wi
