It wasn't as bad as many expected in Seattle, but that offense is horrible without playmakers. The defense improved, so there's that.
It's going to be a long season. The defense isn't much better, which puts a ton of pressure on the offense.
They did some nice things on offense and the defense looked improved against the Packers. That's progress.
The loss of Kevin White is a big hit, and who knows about Alshon Jeffery's health? The defense will be better with Vic Fangio, but the division is brutal.
Jay Cutler will have a season that few expect -- a good one -- and I think Vic Fangio's defense will be much improved. They will push for a playoff spot.
This season is all about Jay Cutler. Can the new staff get him playing better? Will the addition of receiver Kevin White help make that possible? The defense can't be as bad as a year ago, which will help.
They have a new coach in John Fox, who has a defensive background that will be needed to turn that unit around. Jay Cutler is still the QB -- for now.
John Fox takes over as coach and he will bring toughness back to the team. But that defense is a mess.
So now it's back to Jay Cutler with the injury to Jimmy Clausen. Marc Trestman should enjoy Cutler in his last game as coach.
There is no way Marc Trestman can survive, can he? This thing gets worse by the week.
