They get Tom Brady back. They have the deepest team in the league. Oh, and they have the best coach. Add it up, and it's no wonder they are Super favorites.
02/09/20091112
Tom Brady is expected back, which will make them a Super Bowl contender again. They lost offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to the Broncos, a move that could be felt, but shouldn't be as long as Brady is back.
12/30/20081210
There will be no playoffs, but Bill Belichick did a great job with this team. Matt Cassel is about to get paid -- if Tom Brady is fine.
12/23/20081014
If they beat the Bills and the Jets beat the Dolphins, they win the AFC East. They can also get in as a wild-card team. Just being in that position has to be a shock to a lot of people who thought they were done when Tom Brady went down.
12/16/20081415
After two weeks out west they come home with a chance to win the division with two victories to close it out. The wild-card route isn't out of the question either.
12/09/20081511
They are tied now for the division lead and their schedule is favorable down the stretch. But they just don't seem right.
12/02/2008118
Did Matt Cassel's price go down after that bad day against the Steelers? The Patriots better watch out or they might miss the playoffs.
11/25/2008810
Matt Cassel is on fire, throwing for 815 yards the past two games. It helps that Randy Moss and Wes Welker catch the passes.
11/18/2008106
They have a huge one this week with the Dolphins. The winner might be tied for first place if the Jets lose. The loser could be in playoff trouble.
11/11/2008610
As Matt Cassel grows, they will only get better. They have two huge games in the next two weeks against the Jets at home and at Miami. Win them, and they will win the division.
