They didn't win against San Diego, but they competed. That's a good sign, and Derek Carr impressed.
Tony Sparano to the rescue. Did I just write that? I doubt that happens, even if he buried a football as a hokey motivational gesture this week.
The coach (Dennis Allen) is gone, and the general manager is next. Is there any doubt they belong down at the bottom?
They competed at New England, which is a step forward. The defense looked much better.
They didn't even compete against the Texans. That's not a good sign. It's going to be a long season.
They competed against the Jets, and Derek Carr did some good things, but it's going to be a long season.
I give them a lot of credit for making the decision to start Derek Carr. It's the right move.
Have they improved at all? I just don't think Matt Schaub is even a short-term answer.
They've done some good things, but they have a long way to go. I just don't think they've done enough to improve that much this season. It takes time.
Dennis Allen is staying, but the bad news is the roster isn't very good. They have a tough rebuilding job.
