Bills report: Notes, quotes
--Former Bills OG Joe DeLamieulleure, speaking on Sirius NFL Radio, about Jim Haslett's comment that steroid use was rampant in the NFL during their playing days: "Its so typical of the Jim Haslett I knew of 20 some years ago, calling attention to himself and then back peddling when everyone got upset about it, but I guess a leopard never changes his spots. He's a head coach in the National Football League. He should worry about helping former players instead of trying to hurt them. I mean we got enough problems, the former players who built this league for what it is today, why doesn't that guy go and hire former players on his staff instead of guys who've never played. You know, the guy says one thing and does another, and I'm mad at him, I really am."
--As they work to reshuffle their offensive line, the Bills have determined that moving former first-round pick Mike Williams from right tackle to left tackle to replace Jonas Jennings (49ers) isn't a good option. The massive Williams, who has started 42 games at right tackle, will remain the mainstay of the Bills right-handed running game. Mularkey said Williams made good progress last year playing right tackle and doesn't want to disrupt that by making him learn a new position. QUOTE TO NOTE: "It's the feeling of the coaches and our medical people that Willis (McGahee) still has some room to improve and get stronger and obviously, get more comfortable in our offense. The encouraging thing with Willis is that each time he went on the field, he got better. I think next year we'll see the real Willis McGahee. What we saw this year was pretty good, but he's a got a chance to be even better." - GM Tom Donahoe talking about RB Willis McGahee, who gained 1,128 yards in 11 starts in his first season back from major knee surgery.
