"I was just having fun with it," Winslow said.
The comments drew a lot of attention. San Diego fans booed Winslow robustly, and even cheered when he took a blow to the knee.
Winslow's response was on the field -- he caught a team-high and career-high 11 passes for 78 yards, and is on pace to catch 102 passes this season.
--RB Reuben Droughns' lack of speed was noticeable against the Chargers' blazing fast defense.
Droughns didn't even average two yards on his 19 carries. The Browns have gone to a zone blocking scheme under new coordinator Jeff Davidson, and the Chargers had the speed to offset it.
Because Droughns could not run, the Chargers were able to tee off on Charlie Frye.
After gaining 1,200 yards the last two seasons, Droughns is on pace to gain 836 yards this season.
--WR Braylon Edwards finally got more involved in the offense, catching six passes for 61 yards and a touchdown. Edwards had been near absent the previous two weeks.
--WR Dennis Northcutt made his return notable with an 81-yard punt return in the first period. Northcutt is one of the league's best punt returners and he was missed in that role when he was out for two weeks with rib injuries.
--CB Leigh Bodden left the game early when he sprained an ankle. Bodden had struggled with an ankle injury for weeks, and now may miss time after hurting the other ankle.
--PK Phil Dawson set a team record with six field goals, but shrugged it off because it came in a loss. Dawson was perfect thanks to a penalty wiping out a 54-yard miss.
