Tackle Chris Terry could start at right tackle Saturday if John Welbourn cannot recover from an injured ankle. Kyle Turley is out with a shoulder ailment and the Chiefs have Welbourn listed as probable. The Chiefs signed Terry as a free agent on Oct. 25.

PLAYER NOTES

--WR Dante Hall did not practice Wednesday, sitting out with flu-like symptoms. He is expected to play Saturday.

--RB Michael Bennett is questionable with an ankle injury he sustained in last week's game. He did not practice Wednesday. If he cannot play, Dee Brown will replace him as Larry Johnson's backup.

--T Kyle Turley is out with a shoulder injury. Turley, who is playing at about 265 pounds, has battled injuries all season and has played just seven games.

--DE Jimmy Wilkerson, who rotates at tackle and end, will miss Saturday's game with a hamstring pull that has lingered for three weeks.

--T John Welbourn is probable with an ankle injury. He is the Chiefs' No. 2 right tackle behind Turley and has played the last two games at the spot.

GAME PLAN
The Chiefs have to find some way to get into the end zone and, though it's clear Trent Green has not played well recently as the Chiefs have struggled to protect him, it also seems the Kansas City offense has grown predictable. To score on a good Raiders defense, the Chiefs will have to mix it up, which had always been their strength in past seasons.

Defensively, the Chiefs should have little problem with the poor Raiders offense. Much like they did in the last meeting, Kansas City should play solidly and wait for Oakland to mess up.

MATCHUPS TO WATCH
Raiders QBs Aaron Brooks/Andrew Walter vs. Chiefs secondary -- This could be a futility contest, as both sides of the matchup have under-performed this season. Nonetheless, the Raiders will probably have to throw extensively against the Chiefs, who normally defend the run well.

Chiefs offensive line vs. Raiders defensive line -- Kansas City could be down to its third right tackle if John Welbourn can't play Saturday and the Chiefs have struggled to protect Green in recent weeks. Without time to throw, Green has been highly ineffective.

INJURY IMPACT
Tackle John Welbourn will probably play Saturday, but if he doesn't, the Chiefs will have a major question mark at right tackle in Chris Terry, where they've started four different players this season. Fortunately for the Chiefs, Trent Green is right handed, so his backside protection is not at stake. Terry is a veteran, but has played only 13 games in the last three seasons.

I just got to see the replay of the game via directv shortcuts and while the Chiefs got blasted by the Chargers, I don't think that they really got out played all that badly.  Sometimes the stinkers surface no matter what you do.  The Chiefs players lost that game and the ...(more)

First and foremost, I would like to say:  Out of all the AFC West teams, I respect the Chiefs the most.  I respect them as a franchise and hate them only because they are always a scary team for the Broncos, not matter how bad either team is.

This is why you don't give up on a team after 9 games.  I didn't give the Chiefs a great shot to win this one today, but I have stated numerous times, I am in Pioli's and Haley's corner, and think they will turn this thing around.  The record doesn't display some of the improvements this team has made.  Pioli and Haley we ...(more)

None of my friends will listen to me but Cassel is  not a good player.  I would bet my salary that he would not start for any other NFL team.  He cannot throw the deep ball and he is slow.  Not saying he is stupid but he is slow on his reads.  By the time he decides to throw.  the defense already has adjusted and the ...(more)

I know it was the Notre Dame defense he was playing today but I really think this guy is special.  He's currently projected as a 2nd or 3rd round pick.  If it stays that way I think the Chiefs should grab him and make him the full-time back with Charles as the 3rd down/special situation back.  It would make the opposing defens ...(more)

A Chiefs game against the Broncos is always an emotional one, no matter what the teams' records may be.  Add to this Sunday the emotion of having Derrick Thomas' #58 to be permanently retired.  Here is the story from the Chiefs web pages.

I see many, many changes coming next season.

I hope we gat a OC weather it's Weis or ??????. I think Haley could be a OK head coach. He needs more help with this team though.

I think Pioli is going to work some MAGIC this offseason.

If he wants fans to come to the new Arrowhead the better. Many of us won't go if they don't get a good team.

Arrowhead needs to be packed with extremely vocal, distractive, and wildly confident Chiefs fans when we play the Denver Broncos on Sunday.  The Denver Offense jumps offsides alot in loud environments - even at Invesco Field at Mile High.  They were called 4-times in the ...(more)

There are issues on both sides of the ball that need to be fixed before the beginning of next year and I hope Pioli has plans. (these are just my opinions so know one get your panties in a bunch)

I will start with the coaching.  I think we need a OC badly.  Hailey is trying to take on the burden of being a head coach and an offensive coordinator and it has been shown in the pa

(POLL) The Chiefs have won two games in a row now, but can they make it three? We go to sunny San Diego where it will be 70 degrees and hostile! I think we might reach 8-8 if we win this weekend. But it will be tough!

If Haley can't do it this weekend, the next three would be the next three;

Obviously there are some rumors flying around about Charlie Weis becoming the new OC, but one of the local talk radio shows got talking about the idea of bringing in a QB (i.e. Clausen) if this thing with Weis turns out to be true.

Forget what you think about either one of these guys, is there anyone else seriously considering drafting anything but an OL with our first pick?

This is week 11 now of an almost 3 month search for Chiefs defensive end Tyson Jackson. Many fans have been looking everywhere for him this year but have yet to locate the 3rd overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft. One female witness claims she saw him about a month ago agains ...(more)
