--Ricky Williams revealed this week that Bears running back Cedric Benson had invited him to go on Benson's ill-fated boat trip down Lake Travis a few weeks ago. Williams, who has had his share of off-field issues but more with the NFL's substance-abuse policies than the police, said he might've been able to prevent the incident which resulted in his fellow Longhorn running back in getting charged with resisting arrest and boating while intoxicated.

"I think if I had come down, things might have worked out a little bit differently," Williams said in the Austin American-Statesman. "I find I have a calming influence on people I'm around. As a high-level athlete, it's just something that's ingrained in me. I always think that if I'm there, things would be different. I can't say how."

--DE Jason Taylor was given a taped pep talk by Dolphins Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino before his first dance in Monday's "Dancing with the Stars" semifinals.

"If you don't bring back the mirrorball (trophy, which goes to the champion), don't come home," Marino said. Neither Marino nor Taylor ever won a Super Bowl. Taylor sacked the competition and is now in next week's finals along with champion ice skater Kristi Yamaguchi and actor Cristian de la Fuente.

--Former Michigan offensive lineman Dan Dierdorf, a Hall of Famer, is confident that rookie Jake Long will do fine at left tackle despite the detractors who say he's better suited on the more run-oriented right side.

"I was very uncomfortable in a left-handed stance and to play left tackle from a right-handed stance really puts you at a disadvantage," Dierdorf said in an interview on WFTL-640 AM (South Florida). "You have to take an extra step to get back where you ought to be to assume the pass-protection position that cuts off the edge for an outside rusher. Jake is a natural left-handed guy and is very comfortable at it."

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I was just happy to get back to work, honestly. It's where I belong so I can't wait to get back out there now that you get a little taste of it. I am really excited to get out here with the veteran players and get a chance to really see what we have. I was comfortable out here doing what we did." --Coach Tony Sparano when asked if he felt like a rookie at minicamp.

I'm not usually a big fan of Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, but I think he hit the nail on the head with this article and I agree with most, if not all, of what he says... enjoy. I know I did.

Hey Everyone,

I hope you all had a nice holiday yesterday!  As I was looking over the internet, I saw an article on profootballtalk.com that mentioned where Charlie Weis might go if he is let loose by Notre Dame.  Miami was mentioned because of his ties to Bill Parcells, but I wanted to know if you think it would be a good idea.  Of course, I know nothing has been decided

(On the biggest preparation he has made in his first seven starts) - "I think getting accustomed to the wide outs and just feeling the rhythm to the passing game and really anticipating a lot of throws and making smarter decisions and going the right place with the ball is the biggest key right now."

This list is unofficial list I found in Profootball weekly. The players in the RFA with an asterisk are players who will become unrestricted if a new CBA is reached prior to March. if the NFL goes into an uncapped year without a CBA than the players with asterisk are restricted. The article also mentions a clause in Ronnie Brown ...(more)

Since I'm extremely pissed about yesterday's loss, I decided to create and thread where all of us Dolphins fans can blow off some steam or rant about how frustrated we are.

He is the real deal. I want him wearing a Dolphin jersey next year. For those of you who do not know him, he is a 6-5 WR at Missouri. He was sidelined by injury much of the past few seasons; however, when he was healthy he beat out Jeremy Maclin for the starting WR job. Now that he is healthy this year-- he is producing in a big ...(more)

As I read some of our frustrating posts concerning the loss to the Buffalo Bills, I have to wonder something..... did we REALLY expect the Dolphins to make the playoffs this year? And dont get me wrong, we are still very much in it, mostly because we play all of the teams we will be ...(more)

Finally!

Another player that I've been waiting to read in the news that they have been released. And finally, the day has come.
I've never liked him. He wasn't a good DE, so they decided to move him to OLB, and he wasn't all that good there. He's slightly below average LB. Solid tackler, but bad in coverage, slow, and just not a play maker.

The only question I have

The 16-0 Indianapolis Colts vs. the 16-0 New Orleans Saints playing in the Super Bowl in Miami.

That would obviously mean one team will finish the season undefeated in MIAMI in front of those collective blowhards known as the 1972

With all of the injuries that happened this past week it should have an affect on the AFC playoff picture. The fact that everyone in the AFC North lost gives the Dolphins alittle bit of an edge on the rest of the year too. Big Ben getting concussion like symptoms and Batch needing surgery and will miss the rest of the season can sh ...(more)

Nothing like watching a team with the division still on the line coming into a game flat as could be. Apparently the Fins expected the Bills hand them the game.. Piss poor game calling cost us this game.
