--Ironically, the Giants find themselves in an almost identical position to the one in which they found themselves on Dec. 13, 1998, when the undefeated Denver Broncos came to Giants Stadium boasting a 13-0 record. The Giants engineered an upset, winning in the final minutes on a TD pass to WR Amani Toomer, 20-16. Toomer is still a member of the Giants' starting offensive unit.

--QB Eli Manning is not considering sitting down for this game. "Right now," he says, "our mindset is starting and playing all game and doing our best to win. I think teams have figured out a little bit of what they're doing, and now it's up to us to find more answers and win the game."

--The Giants lead the NFL in sacks with 52, and the Patriots are second with 46. "That's a strong pass-rushing team," said Manning. "We need to make sure of our blocking schemes."

--WR Amani Toomer, who had five of Manning's seven completions last week for 99 of his 111 yards gained: "We came back and won that game (in Buffalo) because this team will never quit. Now we can win one more before the season is over, and we have every intention of doing so."

--Giants head coach Tom Coughlin and Patriots head coach Bill Belichick spent time together on the Giants staff when Bill Parcells was the head coach (198801990), and actually worked with each other since Coughlin was the WRs coach and Belichick handled the DBs.

BY THE NUMBERS
32 -- The unusually high discrepancy between TDs scored by the Patriots (71) and the Giants (39). In fact, New England WR Randy Moss has caught more TD passes from QB Tom Brady (21) than Giants QB Eli Manning has thrown (19) to his entire team.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I never questioned it. I know you people (the media) did, but I never did. But thanks for asking." -- Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, on whether he got satisfaction from seeing that his core values still work with respect to coaching a team.

To my Giants faithful, this season is a true and utter failure.  I have never seen a team with this much "so called" talent play at this level and walk out with their heads held high.  They should be ashamed by their play, lack of discipline and confidence.  The bye week couldn't come at a better time and it doesn't look as i ...(more)

Well here we go, another crap performance today and you won't see me on here or in front of a TV watching a Giants game until next season. I've had enough of this garbage I've had to sit through the last 3 Sundays, now or never.

With an interception taken to the 10yd line and we dont score a touchdown we deserve to lose this game by a point.. we have the bigest running back in the league and one of the best blocking fullbacks and we cant get 10 yeards ... pack it up Giants the season is over with.. overrated bunch of bums i am freakin done!!

Dear Giant Fans:      Did anyone believe during the pre-season, that this  talent laden Giant team would be in a total " free fall " by game 9 of the regular season?  Ladies and gentlemen, the wheels have come off of the wagon.  Realistically you cannot blame anyone but the players.  They seem to be playing without genuine emotion, without conviction an ...(more)

We were never going to go undefeated and we were going to have bad games.  Hell even if we lose tomorrow, it's still not the end of the season/life as we know it.

A lot of you here are acting like you've never seen a losing streak in football.  It happens...

So lets not bench Eli, cut Osi, fire all the coaches and sell the team just yet.  Even if we do lose a f

The Giants on Sunday are playing a season defining game; currently on a three game losing streak… make that implosion streak during which every aspect which we thought was OK has been exposed.  I have heard this week that Brandon Jacob ...(more)

I can't take this guy anymore, when I see him I just want to rip his mustache off. How does Coughlin still let him call plays after this disgusting excuse of playcalling. The worst part about winning the super bowl 2 years ago, was that this idiot will be here for years. I want to see Tom defend this guy.

This Giants team simply lacks playmakers on both sides of the ball.  There's no explosiveness, speed, or anything that intimidates the opposing team.  The good news is we can possibly save our season with a victory over Atlanta in a couple of weeks.  The bad is that they're way faster and have much more playmaking ability tha ...(more)

I have been a Jerry Reese supporter, but it's time we take a look at the job he's done. Remember Ernie Accorsi was the man that built that super bowl team, and i do like Jerry, but he should take a lot of blame. He has done a HORRIBLE job drafting our linebackers, and providing depth at safety. I know everyone wants to blame the DB's but ...(more)

Im depressed as any Giants fan about this loss, but there are definitely some good things (and bad) to get from this game.

first the good
-Brandon Jacobs coninues to run very well, averaging again over five yards a carry, showing good burts and absolutely bowling over people
-Defense a little healthier;

Dare i say it before the bye week. This is a must win game against San Diego. I know it's a hard pill to swallow right now but i think the Giants want to out on a high note. Like a said plenty of times before, i believe we will not see the like's of the injured until after the bye ...(more)
