PLAYER PERSONNEL NOTES
--WR Hines Ward needs 99 yards from scrimmage to move into second place in that category on the team career list. He has 11,279 yards.
--KR Stefan Logan needs 53 kickoff return yards to set the team record, which stands at 1,306 yards and was set by Ernie Mills in 1995.
--QB Ben Roethlisberger has set several team records this season, including passing yards in a season (3,849) and game (503), completions in a season (302) and most 300-yard games in a season (five).
--WR Mike Wallace is second among AFC rookies with 609 receiving yards, and his 17.9-yard average leads the Steelers.
Pittsburgh has unabashedly turned over the keys to its offense to Ben Roethlisberger and the passing game, and they likely will focus on that as a way to beat the Ravens, who rank sixth against the pass but have only 25 sacks this season. On defense, the Steelers will focus on stopping Ray Rice, who burned them in the opener.
MATCHUPS TO WATCH
Ravens RB Ray Rice vs. Steelers run defense. But it's not just about the run because Rice burned Steelers with five catches in first game.
Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs vs. Steelers LOT Max Starks. Suggs did not
play in the first game and Starks has not done well lately.
WRs Hines Ward (hamstring), Mike Wallace (bruised knee) and RB Rashard Mendenhall (bruised hip) have injuries that likely will not keep them out of the game but could limit their effectiveness. DE Brett Keisel (stinger) should be OK. SS Troy Polamalu (knee) is touch-and-go whether he will play after missing five straight.
