PLAYER NOTES

--RG Richie Incognito did not practice Wednesday because of a foot injury, and is doubtful to play this week.

--DE C.J. Ah You was listed as limited in practice Wednesday because of an ankle injury, but he was able to do most of the necessary work.

--LG Jacob Bell has a sprained thumb, but participated fully in practice Wednesday.

--WR Brandon Gibson did more work than previously with the first unit and could see additional time on the field this week. Gibson was acquired from Philadelphia Oct. 20 in a trade involving LB Will Witherspoon.

--CB Quincy Butler is establishing himself as a starter with Bradley Fletcher out for the rest of the season.

GAME PLAN
There is only one plan when it comes to playing the Saints, and that's find a way to score points. The Saints have given up significant rushing yardage the last two games, so the Rams should find ways to run. But that won't be enough. The offense will have to score touchdown to have any chance of keeping the game close.

MATCHUPS TO WATCH
Rams CBs Ron Bartell and Quincy Butler vs. Saints QB Drew Brees. Brees spreads the ball around to numerous targets, so Bartell and Butler won't be the only defenders under stress. Whether Brees is throwing to his wide receivers, tight ends or running backs, most of the defensive personnel will be challenged.

Rams RB Steven Jackson vs. Saints run defense. Michael Turner (151) and DeAngelo Williams (149) have combined for 300 yard the last two games, so the Saints will be hard-pressed to hold down Jackson. They will just try and prevent Jackson from breaking off long run. Jackson has just one rushing touchdown this season.

INJURY IMPACT
The Rams are healthy coming back from the bye, save for RG Richie Incognito, who is likely out because of a foot injury. Incognito missed the Nov. 1 game against Detroit, and Adam Goldberg filled in fine.
