Notable players cut by the Seahawks on Saturday include: DE Pierre Allen, FB Dorson Boyce, WR Chris Carter, RB Thomas Clayton, DT Colin Cole, CB Kennard Cox, DL Maurice Fountain, DE David Howard, LB Michael Johnson, LB/DE Jameson Konz, FS Mark LeGree, WR Ricardo Lockette, LB Mike Morgan, S Josh Pinkard, DE A.J. Schable, WR Owen Spencer, RB Vai Taua and WR Patrick Williams.

The Ravens signed K Shayne Graham on Wednesday to potentially fill in for K Billy Cundiff, who's nursing a left calf injury. Graham participated in Baltimore's training camp in 2010 but lost the battle to Cundiff. To make room, the Ravens placed LB Chavis Williams (foot) on injured reserve.

Foot - IR. Out for the season

Baltimore LB Sergio Kindle said he felt fine after participating in contact drills Saturday for the first time since missing all of last season with a fractured skull. He had took part in two non-contact practices before the big test Saturday. "No issues, no concerns, no pain or anything like that," Kindle told the Baltimore Sun. "It all felt good to me."

Ravens rookie DT Arthur Jones has agreed to a three-year deal that will ensure that he will be a part of the team come training camp.

Baltimore WR Anquan Boldin had a big game on Sunday in the AFC Championship game at New England. Unfortunately, it wasn't big enough as the Ravens lost with the Patriots headed to the Super Bowl. Boldin caught six passes for 101 yards and had a long catch of 37 yards. He did not score in the game and was targeted by QB Joe Flacco eight times to lead the team. His season is officially over.

In news that should surprise no one, the Ravens said Wednesday that they intend to keep RB Ray Rice from hitting free agency this offseason. But GM Ozzie Newsome would prefer to give Rice a long-term extension and not the franchise tag. While the tag would likely keep him with the Ravens for another season, an extension would give the Ravens some cap relief for the upcoming season. “We would like to have a deal done with Ray before we get have to put the tag on him,” Newsome said "[That] does give us flexibility to go and do some other things with some other players. The agent knows that, too, so we have to balance that."

Baltimore DL Paul Kruger had two sacks and two tackles during the Ravens' 30-27 victory over Arizona in Week 8. Kruger now has three sacks over his past two games and has already surpassed his career high established during the 2010 campaign.

The Ravens have released LB Prescott Burgess and TE Davon Drew. Burgess, a special teams standout, saw his stock take a blow with the new kickoff rule. Drew looks to have been beaten out by TE Kris Wilson, who was signed during training camp.

Ravens DB Cary Williams suffered a concussion Week 16 against the Browns. He had three tackles (one solo) before leaving the game in the first half.

Baltimore waived LB Jason Phillips on Saturday. The team signed DB Danny Gorrer from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

WR Lee Evans (ankle) will not play Sunday against St. Louis, the team announced. Evans has not practiced this week. With Evans out, that leaves four WRs available: Anquan Boldin, Torrey Smith, LaQuan Williams and Tandon Doss.

Baltimore QB John Beck, DB Ed Reed, TE L.J. Smith, WR Mark Clayton, DL Brandon McKinney and DL Kelly Talavou have been listed as inactive for the team's Week 14 game against the Lions.

Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti promised Wednesday that Joe Flacco would be the team's starting quarterback for years to come. Speaking with the media Wednesday, the Ravens owner made it clear that the team is going to begin contract extension talks with Flacco now before he enters his contract year. "He's trending up," Bisciotti said. "This is the sweet spot for him, years five through 10. ... I think he's going to be extremely successful. I think he's going to have rings. I think he's got 10 years of his prime to show it."

Ravens QB Tyrod Taylor returned to practice Monday after suffering a bruised left shoulder during the team's final preseason game against Atlanta on Thursday. An MRI revealed only a contusion to his non-throwing shoulder. "Nothing but a bruise," Taylor said. "Definitely that was a blessing and better it happened to my left shoulder than my right one. I practiced, I did everything. It's just sore. I think working out and then having a rest day Tuesday, a day off the field, will definitely help me. It's getting better fast."

Ravens DL Terrence Cody suffered a concussion Week 2 against the Titans. He had two solo tackles before leaving the game.

The Ravens official team website reports that Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta more than filled the shoes of departed longtime TE Todd Heap. In their first season splitting the workload, they combined to catch 94 passes for 933 yards and eight touchdowns. Those are better numbers than any of Heap’s 10 seasons in Baltimore in all three categories. Now Ravens Offensive Coordinator Cam Cameron only sees more production ahead out of his two young tight ends. “Those two are right on track in their development and we expect big years out of both of them next year,” Cameron said.

Ravens LB Jarrett Johnson played well in Sunday's game against the Saints in Week 15. Johnson had seven tackles, including six solo, with a sack. He also had a forced fumble. This was Johnson's first full sack of the season. He now has 1.5 for the year.

Baltimore CB Chris Carr sustained a thigh injury during Sunday's Week 1 win over the Steelers. Carr, who dealt with a nagging hamstring injury all through training camp, left the game and did not return. Carr finished the contest with one tackle.

Baltimore LB Terrell Suggs, the most dynamic player on the Ravens’ staunch defense, claimed the 2011 Associated Press NFL Defensive Player of the Year award. On a team featuring longtime stars Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, Suggs stood out most for a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the league. He earned 21 votes, seven more than Minnesota DL Jared Allen. “There is not a harder worker in football than Terrell Suggs,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said.

Baltimore receiver Torrey Smith caught a touchdown pass in the AFC Championship game loss at New England on Sunday. Unfortunately, the Ravens season is over with the Patriots going to the Super Bowl. Smith hauled in a 29-yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco in the third quarter of the game to give the Ravens the lead at that point. He finished with three catches for 82 yards and the score.

Ravens DB Bernard Pollard totaled eight tackles (five solo) in Week 16 against the Browns. He is up to 70 tackles in 15 games.

Baltimore DB Ed Reed (ankle) was active for the AFC Championship game on Sunday in New England. Reed tweaked his ankle in last week's AFC Divisional playoff win over Houston.

Ravens DL Cory Redding totaled five solo tackles and one sack in Week 14 against the Colts. Redding now has 3 1/2 sacks in his last three games.

Ravens DB Lardarius Webb totaled two solo tackles and one interception in Week 16 against the Browns. He now has five interceptions in 15 games.

Ravens DL Haloti Ngata totaled four tackles (two solo) in Week 16 against the Browns. He now has 60 tackles in 15 games.

RB Ricky Williams announced Tuesday that he is retiring from the NFL. Williams, 34, recently completed his 11th NFL season and first with the Ravens. He appeared in 147 career games (83 starts), posting 2,431 carries for 10,009 rushing yards and 66 touchdowns. The 5-10, 230-pounder added 342 receptions for 2,606 receiving yards and eight touchdowns during his career. Williams amassed five 1,000-yard rushing seasons. “The NFL has been an amazing page in this chapter of my life,” Williams said. “I pray that all successive adventures offer me the same potential for growth, success and most importantly, fun. I want to thank all my fans, teammates, coaches and supporters for the strength they've given me to overcome so much."

Baltimore LB Ray Lewis said he has no plans to retire following the Ravens' loss to New England in the AFC Championship game on Sunday. Lewis, 36, recorded 96 tackles and two sacks during his 16th NFL season. "Is this my last time as a Raven? Absolutely not," Lewis told the Carrol County Times on Sunday. "Let me answer that question before somebody asks me. Absolutely not. It's just too much, man."

Baltimore claimed DB Emanuel Cook off waivers Tuesday and released LB Josh Bynes. Cook, previously with the Jets, has played in eight games this season and tallied three tackles. Bynes was signed to the 53-man roster last week after spending time on Baltimore's practice squad.

The Carroll County Times reports Ravens RB Vonta Leach suffered a foot injury Week 2 against the Titans, but he said the injury wasn't serious.

The Ravens might need a new long snapper after the Week 16 win over the Browns. Long snapper Morgan Cox may have suffered "serious" knee damage in the game, according to the team's official site. Cox will have an MRI exam to see how severe his injury is. He hurt the knee early in the game but kept playing.

Ravens WR LaQuan Williams caught two passes for 28 yards in Week 9 against the Steelers. He was targeted three times by QB Joe Flacco in Baltimore's 23-20.

Ravens DB Jimmy Smith totaled seven solo tackles in Week 16 against the Browns. He has 12 solo tackles in his last two games.

The Ravens placed wide receiver David Reed (knee) on injured reserve on Monday. Reed left the Week 16 game against Cleveland with the injury.

The Dolphins reached the decision on the final 53 players they will carry heading into the season, so they let several players go. Among the released were QBs Kevin O’ Connell and Pat Devlin, CB Vincent Agnew, TE Brett Brackett, WR Patrick Carter, TE Dedrick Epps, LB Jonathan Freeny, RB Nic Grigsby, WR Phillip Livas, WR John Matthews, CB Nate Ness, LB David Nixon, WR Julius Pruitt, S Mark Restelli, LB Robert Rose, TE Mickey Shuler, LB Quinton Spears, S Gerald Alexander, CB Will Allen, FB Lousaka Polite and NT Ronald Fields.

Ravens S Haruki Nakamura will likely be out a month with a knee injury sustained against St. Louis on Sunday, said coach John Harbaugh. The Ravens haven't received the MRI results yet but Harbaugh said the outcome does look "promising." Nakamura was hurt on a special teams play.

Baltimore K Billy Cundiff recorded eight points in Sunday's AFC Championship game loss to the Patriots, but it's the three he didn't record that cost his team the most. Cundiff went 2 for 3 on field goals in the game and added two extra points. His 39-yard field goal late in the third quarter gave Baltimore a 20-16 lead at the time. Unfortunately, Cundiff missed a 32-yard FG attempt with seconds left to play, giving the Patriots a 23-20 victory.

The Ravens placed RB Matt Lawrence (concussion) on injured reserve Tuesday.

The Ravens placed DB Domonique Foxworth (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday.

Knee - IR. Out for the season

The Ravens spent a pair of fifth-round picks on Texas CB Chykie Brown and Mississippi State DE Pernell McPhee. Brown, who missed four games in the 2010 season with a broken forearm, had two career interceptions with the Longhorns. The 6-foot-3, 280-pound McPhee started in all 25 games at MSU. He had seven sacks, caused two fumbles and deflected four passes.

Ravens WR Lee Evans returned to the starting lineup Week 16 against the Browns after Anquan Boldin was shelved because of knee surgery. Unfortunately, Evans failed to make an impact in a 20-14 win. He recorded no catches on four targets.

Ravens S Tom Zbikowski, who was Baltimore's starting KR against Cincinnati in the Week 11 win, injured his leg in Sunday's game. Zbikowski's injury is the reason he stopped returning kicks in the game. Zbikowski did not make a tackle.

The Ravens placed LB Mike McAdoo on injured reserve on Tuesday with a knee injury.

Ravens rookie RB Anthony Allen has been ruled out for Week 10 against the Seahawks. Allen has been battling a hamstring injury this year and has seen limited action.

The Ravens signed LB Edgar Jones on Wednesday to take the roster spot of LB Prescott Burgess, who was placed on IR.

Ravens cuts on Saturday include: S Nate Williams, TE Johdrick Morris, DT Derek Simmons, WR Brandon Jones and RB Damien Berry. Williams, Boren and Berry are practice squad candidates.

Baltimore released LB Josh Bynes on Tuesday to clear a roster spot for DB Emanuel Cook, who was claimed off waivers from the Jets. Bynes was promoted from the practice squad last Wednesday.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said LB Dannell Ellerbe sustained a concussion Week 16 against the Browns. Ellerbe had two tackles (one solo) in the game.

Baltimore DL Pernell McPhee recorded a sack of QB Andy Dalton in the Week 11 win over the Bengals. McPhee added three total tackles in the performance for the Ravens.

Ravens LB Jameel McClain totaled eight tackles (six solo) and one pass defense in Week 14 against the Colts.

Ravens LB Brendon Ayanbadejo was ejected in Week 7 against the Jaguars. He was ejected after a personal foul in the third quarter. He finished with one tackle and half a sack.

The Ravens signed TE Jonathan Stupar and TE/FB Kris Wilson and released S Eugene Clifford and S Michael Ricks on Monday.
