Maake Kemoeatu News The Carolina Panthers have placed starting defensive tackle Maake Kemoeatu on injured reserve, ending his season the same day he underwent surgery on his torn right Achilles' tendon. Kemoeatu was injured minutes into Carolina's first training camp practice Monday. Kemoeatu said Tuesday he was holding out hope of returning for the last month of the season, but the Panthers likely couldn't hold a roster spot that long. Injury Achilles' - IR. Feeley have all been listed as inactive for the team's Week 11 game against Miami on Thursday. Steve Smith News Carolina WR Steve Smith was limited Sunday at the Jets to two catches for 2 yards. Smith was matched with Jets standout CB Darrelle Revis for most of the day, which was the reason for his poor output. He was also dealing with a rib injury prior to the game. Tank Tyler News The Chiefs have traded DT Tank Tyler to the Carolina Panthers for an undisclosed draft pick in 2010. James Anderson News The Carolina Panthers have lost another linebacker to a season-ending knee injury. The team placed Landon Johnson on injured reserve Tuesday and signed linebacker Jordan Senn. Johnson hurt his medial collateral ligament in Thursday's loss to Miami in his second start at weakside linebacker after Thomas Davis was lost for the season. Johnson's injury leaves James Anderson as the likely starter Sunday at the New York Jets. Josh McCown News The Burlington County Times reports that the Eagles won't have the chance to re-sign QB A.J. Feeley because the Panthers have picked him up. He's expected to take a backup role in Carolina after the foot injury to Panthers backup Josh McCown in Week 1. ESPN reports that McCown is out for the season. Injury Foot - IR. Out for the season Jeff Otah No Updates Dexter Jackson News The Buccaneers have released underachieving wide receiver Dexter Jackson, a second-round draft pick out of Appalachian State in 2008. He appeared in the first seven games of last season, primarily as a kick returner with limited success before losing the kick return job to undrafted free agent Clifton Smith, who went on become a Pro Bowl selection. The Bucs announced the move before practice Monday. Jackson didn't have any receptions as a rookie and has been slowed this preseason by an ankle injury. Jordan Senn News The Carolina Panthers have lost another linebacker to a season-ending knee injury. Everette Brown News The Panthers had several defenders play well Sunday at the Jets. Matt Moore News The Panthers had four players who dressed but failed to record an offensive stat Sunday at the Jets with kicker Rhys Lloyd, WR Charly Martin, RB Tyrell Sutton and backup QB Matt Moore. Thomas Davis News Carolina linebacker Thomas Davis hopes to remain with the Panthers next season, regardless of the rules surrounding his upcoming free agency. Davis was in the locker room Wednesday, preparing for surgery on Nov. 30 to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Davis was injured in a loss to New Orleans earlier in November, ending his most productive season as a pro. "I can't sit around and be sad about it and dwell on it," Davis said. "I have to take the necessary steps to recovery and make sure I'm back for next season." But Davis is one of many players facing an uncertain offseason depending on what happens with the collective bargaining agreement. Under the current deal, Davis would be an unrestricted free agent next season because he has five years of service. That would allow him to seek a deal from any team. But if the two sides don't agree on a new labor deal and the owners decide to go ahead and make 2010 the final year of the CBA, it will be a year without a salary cap. Plenty of new rules would then go into effect. Injury Knee - IR. Out for the season Jonathan Stewart News Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart was limited to nine carries for 35 yards Sunday at the Jets. Stewart, who has been dealing with an injured Achilles' tendon, now has just 78 yards in his past two games against the Jets and Dolphins. Richard Marshall had eight tackles and recovered a fumble. And Julius Peppers, Everette Brown and Damione Lewis each had a half-sack. Garry Williams No Updates Quinton Teal News The Panthers are likely to be without SS Chris Harris on Sunday at Atlanta. Harris missed his third straight day of practice today with a knee injury and is listed as doubtful. Quinton Teal would likely get the start in his place. Louis Leonard News The Carolina Panthers have signed defensive tackle Antwon Burton to replace Louis Leonard, who broke his left ankle in Sunday's loss to Atlanta and was placed on injured reserve. Burton is Carolina's latest big body to help fill the hole at defensive tackle after Maake Kemoeatu ruptured his Achilles' tendon in training camp. Injury Ankle - IR. Out for the season Eric Moore News Rams DE Eric Moore was placed on IR with a wrist injury. The move was made more as a maneuver to get under the league-mandated 53-man roster and not due to the seriousness of the injury. "Moore did not have a break or any fracture in his wrist. They're calling it a wrist sprain," head coach Steve Spagnuolo said before Saturday's transaction. Injury Wrist - IR. Out for the season DeAngelo Williams News Carolina RB DeAngelo Williams had a rough day Sunday at the Jets. He was 1 of 1 passing for minus-3 yards, had 16 carries for 40 yards and caught four passes for 10 yards. Williams also briefly left the game with what appeared to be sprained left ankle, but he returned and finished the game. Jake Delhomme News Carolina QB Jake Delhomme was back to his turnover ways Sunday at the Jets. Delhomme was 14 of 34 passing for 130 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions. He now has eight touchdowns and 18 interceptions on the season. Eddie Canonico News On Wednesday, the Panthers put DE Julius Peppers on Injured Reserve. Taking Peppers' place on the roster is kicker Rhys Lloyd, signed from Baltimore's practice squad to give Carolina a stronger leg for kickoffs. John Kasay has a league-low two touchbacks and has put five kickoffs out of bounds. The Panthers also signed receiver Travis Taylor, who played briefly with St. Louis and Oakland this season. Taylor replaces center Justin Hartwig, who was placed on Injured Reserve Monday with a knee injury. The Panthers added two players to the practice squad on Wednesday: former Wake Forest safety Patrick Ghee and defensive back Eddie Canonico, who has played in the Arena Football League. Wilson, RB Mike Goodson, WR Kenneth Moore and QB A.J. Feeley. Jason Baker No Updates Chris Harris News Panthers DB Chris Harris sounds like he'll be back on the field Sunday after missing three games with a knee sprain. When asked on Thursday if he'll be ready to play against Washington, Harris laughed and said, "I'm leaning toward that way. I'm getting out there and getting comfortable."
