Finally healthy after two years of neck and back problems, Brian Urlacher underwent surgery Monday to repair a dislocated right wrist injured in Week 1 at Green Bay and will not be back this season - a major blow for a team with high expectations. The Bears will move Hunter Hillenmeyer inside and keep Lance Briggs on the outside. They might consider adding Derrick Brooks, who is a free agent and is familiar with the Bears' defensive scheme and coaches.

Wrist - IR. Out for the season

Robbie Gould hit three XPs vs. Arizona in Week 9 and missed a field goal.

The Bears will likely be without injured linebackers Hunter Hillenmeyer and Pisa Tinoisamoa when they host the Lions on Sunday. Both were listed as doubtful on Friday, with Tinoisamoa hobbled by a knee injury he suffered in the season opener at Green Bay and Hillenmeyer recovering from a rib injury in last week's win over Seattle. On the plus side, Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs (foot) is expected to play even though he was listed as questionable. Defensive end Alex Brown (ankle) and defensive tackle Israel Idonije (knee) were also listed as questionable.

Bears safety Al Afalava hurt his shoulder in the team's Week 9 loss to the Cardinals. The Chicago Tribune reports that Afalava will have an MRI on Monday to see how bad the damage is.

Bears QB Jay Cutler did plenty of passing because he was playing from behind vs. the Cardinals in Week 9, and he did good with it. Cutler completed 29 of 47 passes for 369 yards with three touchdowns (all to TE Greg Olsen) and an interception with 17 rush yards. He hit at least five receivers for four receptions each, proving that he can spread the ball around.

Bears backup RB Garrett Wolfe hurt his back in the team's Week 9 loss to the Cardinals. He didn't record a stat in the game.

Bears running back Kevin Jones will miss the season after tearing ligaments in his left ankle in the preseason finale Thursday against the Browns. Plagued by injuries in Detroit and barely able to play in his first season in Chicago, Jones was expected to have a bigger role alongside Matt Forte. Instead, he suffered another setback. The latest occurred in the first quarter on a late hit by Marcus Benard following a 6-yard run. Jones is expected to undergo surgery next week, the team said Friday.

Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris was ejected from Sunday's game against Arizona after just 65 seconds of play for slugging Cardinals offensive tackle Deuce Lutui. At the end of an Arizona running play, Harris and Lutui ended up on the ground and a replay showed Harris hitting Lutui near the face. The Bears got a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and Harris got a quick shower after referee Ed Hochuli announced he had slugged Lutui and was ejected.

Bears DB Kevin Payne had three tackles Sunday against Jacksonville.
