The Browns waived RB Cedric Peerman on Saturday.

Detroit DB Ko Simpson recovered a fumble in the team's Week 9 game against the Seahawks. He also led the team with nine tackles in the game.

The San Francisco 49ers have waived five players in the first round of cutdowns. The team released WRs Mark Bradford and Chris Francies, CBs Carlos Thomas and Jahi Word-Daniels and kicker Alex Romero. Two of the Niners' deepest positions are at wideout and in the secondary.

The Detroit Lions have signed defensive end Orion Martin and kicker Billy Cundiff. Detroit cut wide receiver Eric Fowler and kicker Swayze Waters to make room on the roster Wednesday.

The Lions have announced the inactives for their Week 12 game vs. Tampa Bay. Not uniform will be: QB Dan Orlovsky (hand), DB Keith Smith (coach's decision), LB Anthony Cannon (coach's decision), WR Mike Furrey (concussion), DE Landon Cohen (coach's decision) and DE Dewayne White (calf).

Lions WR Calvin Johnson, DL Jason Hunter, RB Jerome Felton, DB Anthony Henry, DB Marvin White, QB Drew Stanton were all listed as inactive for the team's Week 8 game against the Rams.

Lions defensive end Jared DeVries will miss the 2009 season with a ruptured Achilles' tendon suffered during a training camp practice on Monday. He will require season-ending surgery and won't be on the defensive side of the ball for the Lions.

Lions WR Calvin Johnson, DL Jason Hunter, RB Jerome Felton, DB Anthony Henry, DB Marvin White, QB Drew Stanton were all listed as inactive for the team's Week 8 game against the Rams.

The Lions have listed the following inactives for their Week 3 game hosting the Redskins: 3rd QB Drew Stanton, CB Marcus McCauley, CB Eric King, LB Ernie Sims, DE Turk McBride and DE Cliff Avril.

The Detroit Lions put cornerback Eric King on injured reserve with an injured left shoulder, creating an open spot on the roster Monday. King was hurt in the second quarter of Sunday' loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Shoulder - IR. Out for the season

Detroit TE Casey Fitzsimmons caught six passes on Sunday in a Week 9 loss to the Seahawks. He gained a total of 41 yards in the game with a long of 9 yards.

Detroit WR Bryant Johnson made two receptions for the third straight game on Sunday in Week 9 at Seattle and was able to score a touchdown. His TD pass went for 29 yards and gave the Lions a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. He finished with 35 total yards in the game.

The Lions signed linebacker Zach Follett from their practice squad, released linebacker Darnell Bing and put wide receiver Adam Jennings on injured reserve with an ankle injury. Detroit drafted Follett in the seventh round and are giving him a chance to replace Bing on special teams.

The Bills got down to 53 players on Saturday, waiving QB Matt Baker, LB Alvin Bowen, DE Copeland Bryan, TE Tyson DeVree, DE Ataefiok Etukeren, RB Bruce Hall, DB Cary Harris, WR C.J. Hawthorne, WR Felton Huggins, DT Derrick Jones, DT Corey Mace, LB Ryan Manalac, RB Dominic Rhodes, TE Jonathan Stupar and LB John DiGiorgio. They also released TE Travis McCall from the team’s injured reserve list.

Detroit QB Matthew Stafford was intercepted five times on Sunday in a Week 9 loss to the Seahawks. He completed 22 of his 42 passes in the game for 203 yards, throwing TD passes to both Brandon Pettigrew and Bryant Johnson. Both of Stafford's TD passes came in the first quarter as the Lions built a 17-0 lead in the first. One of his interceptions was taken to the house in the fourth quarter by Cortland Finnegan, which effectively put the game away.

Detroit DL Cliff Avril has been listed as questionable for the team's Week 5 game against the Steelers. Avril was able to participate in practice in full all week.

The Lions signed linebacker Zach Follett from their practice squad, released linebacker Darnell Bing and put wide receiver Adam Jennings on injured reserve with an ankle injury. Detroit drafted Follett in the seventh round and are giving him a chance to replace Bing on special teams.

The Packers released WR Jake Allen, QB Brian Brohm, CB Trevor Ford, WR Kole Heckendorf, LB Danny Lansanah, RB Kregg Lumpkin, DE Alfred Malone, WR Ruvell Martin, DL Dean Muhtadi, LB Cyril Obiozor, CB Joe Porter, S Anthony Smith, RB Tyrell Sutton, DE Ronald Talley and DL Anthony Toribio on Saturday.

The Raiders cut their roster from 80 players to 75 Monday by cutting undrafted center Jonathan Compas, undrafted wide receiver Shawn Bayes, second-year receiver Will Franklin, veteran defensive tackle Joe Cohen and offensive guard Marcus Johnson.

Lions DL Andre Fluellen totaled two tackles and one sack during a Week 2 loss to the Vikings. It was the first sack of his career.

Detroit PK Jason Hanson hit two of the three field goals he attempted on Sunday in a Week 9 loss to the Seahawks. His long in the game was good from 50 yards out. He was also a perfect 2 for 2 on extra points.

Lions LB Ernie Sims (shoulder) went through a full practice Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 8 vs. St. Louis. Sims and the Lions were on a bye in Week 7.

Detroit RB Maurice Morris got only four carries on Sunday in a Week 9 loss to the Seahawks. He gained only 20 yards, with a long of 7 yards. He also caught two passes in the game for a total of 17 yards.

High-priced defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson is among six players cut by the Denver Broncos. Robertson, acquired last offseason from the New York Jets, was set to count $16 million against the team's $123 million cap. Also released Monday by new GM Brian Xanders were linebackers Niko Koutouvides ($3.06 million) and Jamie Winborn ($2.25 million), safety Marquand Manuel ($1.33 million), defensive end John Engelberger ($2.18 million) and tight end Nate Jackson (less than $1 million).

Detroit RB Terrelle Smith caught one pass on Sunday in a Week 9 loss to the Seahawks, gaining 4 yards.

Detroit LB DeAndre Levy was responsible for two turnovers on Sunday in the team's Week 6 game at Green Bay. He picked off QB Aaron Rodgers once and also recovered a fumble.

Falcons CB Chris Houston (hamstring), DE Kroy Biermann (foot) and Lions LB Cody Spencer (knee) were injured during Saturday's preseason game against the Lions.

Detroit Lions safety Daniel Bullocks was placed on injured reserve Thursday after he cleared waivers, sidelining him for the season. The four-year veteran has missed most of training camp with a knee injury and was placed on injured reserve waivers late Wednesday, but no franchise claimed him before the 4 p.m. deadline.

Detroit TE Brandon Pettigrew caught his first touchdown pass on Sunday in a Week 9 loss to the Seahawks. The TD pass went for 7 yards, giving the Lions a 7-0 lead in the game. He finished the contest as the team's leading receiver, catching seven balls for a total of 70 yards. His longest reception went for 18 yards.

Ankle - Missed Week 9 at Seattle

Knee - Missed Week 9 at Seattle

The AFC champion New England Patriots released four players a day after wrapping up their first winless preseason since 1990 with a 19-14 loss to the New York Giants. The cuts of tackle Steve Fifita, offensive lineman Jimmy Martin, cornerback Jeff Shoate and tight end Jonathan Stupar leave New England with 71 players before Saturday's deadline.

Detroit WR Calvin Johnson returned to action for the first time since suffering a knee injury in Week 5 against Pittsburgh on Sunday in a Week 9 clash with the Seahawks. He caught only two passes in the game however, gaining a total of 27 yards. It was his worst performance of the season outside of the game against Pittsburgh when he got injured.

The Lions signed LS Don Muhlbach to a five-year extension. He had been a restricted free agent.

Detroit WR Dennis Northcutt and four other players failed to record a stat in the team's Week 8 game against the Rams. Northcutt got the starting nod again with Calvin Johnson out. Northcutt was targeted five times in the game but failed to catch a pass. Terrelle Smith, Darius Williams, John Standeford and Daunte Culpepper also failed to record a stat.

Lions RB Kevin Smith had a forgettable performance on Sunday in a Week 9 loss at Seattle. He carried the ball 13 times in the game, gaining a total of 67 yards. Nearly half of those yards came on one 31-yard dash. He also caught two passes in the game that went for 9 yards.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have released veteran cornerback William James and first-year tight end Charles Davis. James is a third-round draft pick of the New York Giants in 2001. He was signed by the Jaguars as a veteran free agent on Sept. 1 and played in eight games with one start last season. Davis has spent parts of the last two seasons on the Jaguars' practice squad after signing on December 13, 2007.

Detroit RB Aaron Brown got four carries in a Week 9 loss to the Seahawks. He gained 27 yards on the four carries with a long of 19 yards.

Lions LB Paris Lenon (seven tackles), DB Kalvin Pearson (six tackles), LB Alex Lewis (five tackles), LB Ernie Sims (five tackles), LB Ryan Nece (four tackles, sack), DL Cliff Avril (sack) and DL Chartric Darby (sack) all helped out in a Week 12 loss to the Buccaneers.

Lions LB Larry Foote was one of several Detroit defenders to play well Sunday at Chicago. Foote had six tackles. DB Anthony Henry had four tackles, LB Julian Peterson had six tackles and DB Louis Delmas had three tackles and a sack. Along with that, LB DeAndre Levy had eight tackles and a forced fumble and DL Cliff Avril had a sack and a forced fumble.

The Detroit Lions have signed defensive back Demarcus Faggins and wide receiver John Standeford. Faggins played the previous seven seasons for the Houston Texans, who drafted him in the sixth round in 2002 with the 173rd overall pick. He has played in 82 games with 36 starts, recording five interceptions and three fumble recoveries. Standeford played in nine games for Detroit in 2008, starting four. He had 15 receptions for 244 yards.

Detroit LB Julian Peterson put up some big numbers on Sunday in the team's Week 6 loss at Green Bay. Peterson made 2 1/2 sacks in the game, pestering Aaron Rodgers all game. He also forced two fumbles and was in on 10 tackles.

The Detroit Lions announced that they have traded QB Kevin O’Connell to the New York Jets for an undisclosed future draft pick. The team also released DE Ikaika Alama-Francis, CB Cletis Gordon and WR Adam Jennings. Seven players were signed Sunday by the Lions to the team’s practice squad, including: WR John Broussard, TE Carson Butler, RB Tristan Davis, LB Zack Follett, C Dan Gerberry, TE Dan Gronkowski and T Lydon Murtha.

The Lions announced that they have placed LB Jordon Dizon on Injured Reserve, released WR Paul Raymond from their practice squad and signed LB Chris Graham to their practice squad. The Lions also claimed WR Chris Hannon off waivers from the Miami Dolphins.
