Jeremy Kapinos No Updates Derrick Martin News The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the Packers and safety Derrick Martin have agreed to a new two-year deal. This keeps the special-teams ace in Green & Gold through 2011. Charles Woodson News In his own view, Charles Woodson put together his best pro season in 2009. How appropriate, then, that he is The Associated Press 2009 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. The versatile Woodson tied for the league lead with nine interceptions, returning three for touchdowns, and was a key to the Packers' turnaround on defense. His role in Green Bay's ranking second in overall defense, first in interceptions (30), takeaways (40) and turnover margin (plus-24) earned Woodson 28 votes Tuesday from a nationwide panel of 50 sports writers and broadcasters who cover the NFL. "It's a great honor," Woodson said Tuesday. "I felt like I put a lot into the game, mentally and physically - your body's always beat up - and it's great to be recognized." He doubled the number of votes for New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis in becoming the first Green Bay winner since Reggie White in 1998 and just the second Packer in the 36-year history of the award. The California Highway Patrol says the 27-year-old Havner was arrested Monday after the accident about 2:45 a.m. some 50 miles north of Sacramento. Mark Humenik, whose agency represents Havner, says the player should be "fully recovered in short order." Chris Bryan No Updates James Jones News Packers WR James Jones totaled three catches for 17 yards during a Week 17 win against the Cardinals. Rodgers, who started the game with an interception, was marvelous throughout the game until he was stripped by Michael Adams in overtime. The ball careened off Rodgers' foot and into the hands of Karlos Dansby, who ran untouched for the score. Rodgers said he should have just taken the sack. "I was trying to unload it," he said. "I should have held on to the ball. I was looking at the front side for Driv [Driver]. It looked like he was getting grabbed a bit. Then I was looking for James [Jones] and they were driving in on him as he was running a little in cut, so I kind of pulled the ball back and someone hit my arm." Rodgers completed passes to 10 receivers. All but two of Rodgers' yards came after the first quarter. Rodgers set a Packer playoff passing record. The Packers' playoff passing record was 332 yards by Lynn Dickey at Dallas on Jan. 16, 1983. Josh Sitton No Updates Donald Lee News Packers TE Donald Lee totaled two catches for 13 yards in Week 17 against the Cardinals. It was the third time in four games he managed two catches. Coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that losing the two veterans will be a major challenge to the Packers, who have a 6-4 record and are in the middle of the NFC wild card race after Sunday's victory over San Francisco. With a Thanksgiving Day game in Detroit just three days away, McCarthy says coaches still are considering their options at each position. Harris and Kampman were both taken to the locker room after being hurt on separate plays in the second half of Week 11 vs. San Francisco. McCarthy would not confirm the specifics of either injury, but both appeared to hurt their left knees. Published reports claimed both have torn ACLs. Coach Mike McCarthy was optimistic after practice Friday that the Packers will have most of those injured players, if not all of them, available. Starting end Cullen Jenkins (hamstring) and rookie tackle B.J. Raji (ankle) are probable for the game. Johnny Jolly (knee), the other starting end, is questionable.
