Jaguars RB Rashad Jennings got two carries for 11 yards and two receptions for 25 yards on Sunday in a Week 12 loss to the Niners.

Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis had a fair performance on Sunday in a Week 12 loss to the Niners on the road. Lewis caught three passes in the game and gained a total of 40 yards. His longest reception in the game went for 22 yards.

Jaguars rookie DB Derek Cox led his team with seven tackles and made his second NFL interception in a Week 4 win over the Titans.

The Jaguars have waived receiver D'Juan Woods and acquired cornerback Tyron Brackenridge off waivers. Woods, signed as a rookie free agent out of Oklahoma State in 2007, spent parts of the last two seasons on Jacksonville's practice squad. He played in one game. The 5-foot-11, 189-pound Brackenridge played in 14 games with the Chiefs the past two seasons. He had 20 tackles and two forced fumbles.

Greg Jones, Tiquan Underwood, Montell Owens and Luke McCown all failed to get a stat on Sunday in a Week 12 loss at San Francisco.

Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew had a below average performance by his standards on Sunday in a Week 12 loss to the 49ers. He carried the ball 15 times in the game, gaining a total of 75 yards. His longest run went for 12 yards. He also caught five passes, gaining a total of 35 yards. His longest reception was good for 17 yards.

The Jacksonville Jaguars insist they have several options to replace injured cornerback Rashean Mathis. Safety Reggie Nelson might be the top choice, even after his performance at Tennessee earlier in November. Nelson, starting at cornerback for the first time in his career, missed several tackles and got beat for a touchdown in a 30-13 loss to the Titans. But the Jaguars (5-4) haven't lost confidence in the former Florida star and first-round draft pick in 2007. "I get a sense that Reggie Nelson is a proud guy who's working hard, wants to be better and the only issues he had were tackling," coach Jack Del Rio said Wednesday. "I think he's tackled better the last two weeks and we're going to continue to grow there." The Jaguars officially ruled Mathis out for Sunday's game against Buffalo (3-6). The team's top defensive back injured his groin in last week's 24-22 victory at the New York Jets and probably will miss the next two games, maybe more. "It could be a little while," Del Rio said. "He'll be out this week for sure. With Rashean, he's proven over time to kind of beat the prognosis. Some guys just heal quickly, and Rashean's been that kind of guy for us."

Updating some recent news, the Jaguars have placed rookie receiver Jarett Dillard on injured reserve. Dillard broke his right ankle in Jacksonville's 24-22 victory Sunday at the New York Jets.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been awarded long-snapper Jeremy Cain off waivers from the Washington Redskins. Cain, originally signed as an undrafted rookie linebacker by Chicago in 2004, has played in 17 games with the Bears and Tennessee Titans. In Jacksonville, he will compete with veteran Joe Zelenka for the long-snapper job in training camp. Zelenka has been the team's long-snapper the last eight seasons, playing in a team-record 128 consecutive games. Cain was a two-time All-America selection at linebacker at Massachusetts, where he ranked fifth on the school's career list with 363 tackles.

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed defensive tackle Jervonte Jackson and waived defensive end Jeremy Mincey.

The Jacksonville Jaguars waived linebacker Adam Seward and signed two players to their practice squad who had been with the team previously. Linebacker Lamar Myles and defensive end James Wyche were signed to the practice squad today.

Jaguars defensive end Reggie Hayward broke his left leg Sunday at Indianapolis and will miss the rest of the season. One of five team captains, Hayward broke his fibula in a fourth-down pileup against the Colts. It was his second major injury in four years. He ruptured his Achilles' tendon in the 2006 season opener. "Reggie's a big part of this team, let alone the defense," defensive tackle Derek Landri said. "He was a captain of our team. It's a blow, but it's just one of those things. Another guy's got to step in and step up and carry it on. The season's not slowing down. We feel sorry for Reggie and what happened - you don't wish that on anybody, especially your own teammate - but the younger guys have got to step up and get in there."

With a 16-yard reception late in the second quarter of Sunday’s Week 12 loss to San Francisco, Jaguars WR Torry Holt moved past Bills great Andre Reed and into 10th on the NFL's all-time receiving yardage list with 13,210. Holt finished the game with 46 receiving yards in total, making four receptions.

Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker had a below average performance on Sunday in a Week 12 loss at San Francisco. Sims-Walker caught four passes in the game for a total of 46 yards. His longest reception in the game went for 18 yards.

Jacksonville QB David Garrard had a solid day through the air but struggled in the red zone as the Jags lost to the 49ers 20-3. Garrard completed 25 of his 36 passes in the game for a total of 307 yards. Garrard did not throw a TD pass or an interception in the game but did lose two fumbles deep into San Francisco territory. He also carried the ball twice in the game for 10 yards. Garrard’s passer rating on the day was 95.5.

Jaguars LB Russell Allen led the team in tackles Week 5 at Seattle, more than doubling his previous total on the season. Allen had 10 tackles in the game after recording only four in the team's first four games.

The Sports Xchange reports that the Bengals waived rookie CB Jonathan Zenon (hamstring) with an injury settlement.

Jaguars DL Derrick Harvey tallied seven tackles (five solo) and two sacks during a Week 17 loss to the Ravens. He got all of his 3 1/2 sacks this season in two games. Harvey came into Week 17 with 12 tackles in the first 15 games.

Jacksonville has listed the following players as inactive for Week 11 against the Bills: WR Tiquan Underwood, DL Derek Landri, DB Rashean Mathis, LB Justin Durant and DL Greg Peterson.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed third-round draft pick Terrance Knighton, a 6-foot-3, 325-pound defensive tackle and the 72nd overall pick in April. He is expected to compete for a starting spot alongside two-time Pro Bowler John Henderson in August. Knighton was a three-year starter at Temple and finished with 26 tackles for loss, six sacks and four forced fumbles.
