Giants safety Chad Jones, who is 13 months removed from a life-threatening car accident that mangled his leg, continues to rehab with the team. Despite the long road back, the former two-sport star at LSU has much to go. Jones admitted Monday that he is just 70 percent healed "as an athlete." The team officially placed him on the reserve/non-football injury list, though he appeared at the team's facility while they practiced. “I believe I can play football again,” Jones told reporters. “Ever since the accident happened, I’ve had that tenacity to be able to overcome adversity.”

Days after it was reported that Giants TE Jake Ballard tore his left meniscus in Super Bowl XLVI, the team announced that he also tore his ACL. Ballard walked off the field under his own power after apparently suffering the injury while running during a play. He attempted to test the injury along the Giants sideline, but collapsed and was taken to the locker room on a cart.

He's ready to say goodbye to the "least money" part of that sentence. "I feel like after my performance this year, I deserve to be paid more money at this point," Cruz said. "But that's something I'll let my agents and people take care of and I'll just go out there and play the game." Cruz led the Giants with 82 catches for a franchise-record 1,536 yards during the regular season, then added 21 more catches for 269 yards and a touchdown in the playoffs. That touchdown came in the first quarter of Super Bowl XLVI against the Patriots, as he caught a 2-yard pass from Eli Manning to make it 9-0 New York. "I want to remain a Giant for a very long time," he said.

After halftime, ESPN reported that he suffered a torn ACL on the play, likely ending his season. Thomas had four tackles before the early exit, including a tackle for loss. "Any injury, you feel sorry for a fellow teammate," said veteran cornerback Aaron Ross, who will move into the starting lineup for Thomas. "ACL, or any injury with the knee, is serious. Terrell is a big part of this defense. Losing him is a big hurt to the team."
