The Giants confirmed Wednesday that WR Domenik Hixon will miss the remainder of the season after tearing the ACL in his knee again. Hixon was hurt on an acrobatic touchdown grab on Monday against the Rams.

Knee - IR. Out for the season

Giants safety Chad Jones, who is 13 months removed from a life-threatening car accident that mangled his leg, continues to rehab with the team. Despite the long road back, the former two-sport star at LSU has much to go. Jones admitted Monday that he is just 70 percent healed "as an athlete." The team officially placed him on the reserve/non-football injury list, though he appeared at the team's facility while they practiced. “I believe I can play football again,” Jones told reporters. “Ever since the accident happened, I’ve had that tenacity to be able to overcome adversity.”

Giants suffered a "leg injury" in Week 13 against the Packers. Tollefson was able to remain in the contest, but said after then game that he would have tests done on his leg Monday.

Days after it was reported that Giants TE Jake Ballard tore his left meniscus in Super Bowl XLVI, the team announced that he also tore his ACL. Ballard walked off the field under his own power after apparently suffering the injury while running during a play. He attempted to test the injury along the Giants sideline, but collapsed and was taken to the locker room on a cart.

Knee - Doubtful for start of regular season

Giants DL/LB Mathias Kiwanuka totaled two solo tackles in Week 16 against the Jets. The two tackles were a season-low. He has 79 tackles on the season.

Giants DL Osi Umenyiora has been ruled active for Week 17 against the Cowboys. He missed the previous four games due to ankle and knee injuries.

The Giants have released QB Ryan Perrilloux from the practice squad to make room for DE Justin Trattou. Trattou played with the Giants in Week 1, but was released to make room for WR Brandon Stokley. The practice squad is now without a QB and the Giants only carry two on the 53-man roster.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Giants WR Mario Manningham said that he's not sure where he will play in 2012. Manningham is an impending free agent this offseason after helping the Giants win Super Bowl XLVI. "I don't know where I'm going to end up," he said. "I'm not really thinking about that right now. All I'm thinking about is winning this game." He finished the Super Bowl with five catches for 73 yards on nine targets, and his 38-yard catch in the fourth quarter helped set up the Giants for the game-winning score.

Giants RB Da'Rel Scott saw an increased role in Week 11 against the Eagles. He carried the ball two times, gaining 11 yards and had a 9-yard catch in the 17-10 loss. Scott also returned three kickoffs for 61 yards.

Giants DB Aaron Ross was unable to finish the Wild Card game against the Falcons after sustaining a concussion in the third quarter. He had five solo tackles in the game before getting hurt.

Even though Giants QB David Carr was prevented from practicing until Thursday, his history with the Giants should accelerate his adjustment time. “Not knowing what’s going on, you’re already behind,” Carr told reporters Friday. “Here, there’s nothing like that. I have a little bit of an edge.” Carr is competing with QB Sage Rosenfels for the backup job.

Giants DB Corey Webster totaled seven solo tackles, one interception and two pass defenses in Week 16 against the Jets. He now has an interception in two straight games and a career-high six on the season.

The Giants placed rookie DL Marvin Austin (pectoral) on IR. He had surgery Tuesday morning to fix a torn pectoral muscle.

The Sports Xchange reports that WR Victor Cruz became a star this season for the Giants, and now he wants to be paid like a star. Cruz, who made $405,000 in 2011 after signing with the Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2010, won the Vizio Top Value Performer Award this season as the NFL player who did the most for the least money. He's ready to say goodbye to the "least money" part of that sentence. "I feel like after my performance this year, I deserve to be paid more money at this point," Cruz said. "But that's something I'll let my agents and people take care of and I'll just go out there and play the game." Cruz led the Giants with 82 catches for a franchise-record 1,536 yards during the regular season, then added 21 more catches for 269 yards and a touchdown in the playoffs. That touchdown came in the first quarter of Super Bowl XLVI against the Patriots, as he caught a 2-yard pass from Eli Manning to make it 9-0 New York. "I want to remain a Giant for a very long time," he said.

The Giants released several players on the way to the final 53 for the active roster. Among the players cut were LB Phillip Dillard, LB Adrian Tracy, QB Ryan Perrilloux, RB Andre Brown and Charles Scott, TE Christian Hopkins, WR Darius Reynaud, DEs Ayanga Okpokowuruk, Craig Marshall, Alex Hall and Justin Trattou and Dwayne Hendricks and DBs Joe Burnett, David Sims and Jerrard Tarrant. Giants LB Michael Boley recorded a team-high 11 tackles, including 10 solo stops, during New York's 21-17 victory over New England in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday night. It was the third time overall this season Boley has posted double digits in tackles. He also tallied a pass defended.

Giants DL Jason Pierre-Paul recorded a sack in his fourth straight game in Week 17 against the Cowboys. He finished with five tackles and brought down QB Tony Romo once in the 31-14 win. Pierre-Paul finished the regular season with a career-high 16.5 sacks.

After having a scary moment at the end of the first half Week 15 against the Redskins, Giants WR Devin Thomas has been cleared to practice. Team doctors have diagnosed him with a “burner,” which is a relief because Thomas was carted off during halftime.

Giants DB Kenny Phillips totaled one solo tackle, one interception and two pass defenses in Week 16 against the Jets. He now has four interceptions on the season and two in his last two games.

The Giants spent three picks in Round 6 in April's draft on defenders: Michigan State LB Greg Jones, Iowa safety Tyler Sash and USF linebacker Jacquian Williams.

Giants QB Eli Manning connected on 30 of his 40 passes for 296 yards and a touchdown during New York’s 21-17 victory over New England in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday. It was the second time this postseason Manning did not top 300 passing yards as he completed 75 percent of his attempts en route to claiming MVP honors for his effort. Manning, who did not throw an interception, hit WR Victor Cruz on a 2-yard touchdown pass during the first quarter for the game’s first score.

Giants DB Terrell Thomas blitzed in the second quarter of Monday's preseason game against the Bears, and teammate Jason Pierre-Paul landed on him awkwardly. He was on the ground for some time with an apparent leg injury, but he was able to walk off the field under his own power soon after. After halftime, ESPN reported that he suffered a torn ACL on the play, likely ending his season. Thomas had four tackles before the early exit, including a tackle for loss. "Any injury, you feel sorry for a fellow teammate," said veteran cornerback Aaron Ross, who will move into the starting lineup for Thomas. "ACL, or any injury with the knee, is serious. Terrell is a big part of this defense. Losing him is a big hurt to the team."

Giants CB Brian Witherspoon is out for the season with a torn ACL. Witherspoon told CBSsports.com after Monday's game that he had injured his MCL, but further tests revealed ACL damage.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin previously said CB Prince Amukamara was fatigued at the end of Sunday's loss to the Packers. However, Amukamara told reporters Monday afternoon that he was sitting in the fourth quarter because he rolled his ankle and his surgically repaired foot was sore. The rookie says he still plans on practicing Wednesday in prep for Week 14 at Dallas.

Giants CB Bruce Johnson left practice with a ruptured Achilles' tendon. All indications are that his season is likely over.

Giants rookie MLB Greg Jones has now jumped from the third-team defense to a starting role in just a few days. MLB Phillip Dillard was cut on Saturday, which elevated Jones to the second-team defense, and now that MLB Jonathan Goff (knee) is likely done for the season, Jones will likely get the nod on Sunday against the Redskins. The Giants could also bring in a veteran linebacker while easing Jones into the starting lineup.

Giants DL Justin Tuck totaled four solo tackles and one sack Week 16 against the Jets. He also had two pass defenses. Tuck has four sacks on the season.

DE Jimmy Wilkerson, who injured his knee in Friday's preseason game against the Raiders, was one of three players placed on injured reserve Saturday along with TE John Carlson and WR Isaiah Stanback.

Undisclosed - IR. Out for the season

Giants TE Travis Beckum suffered torn right ACL in the second quarter of the Super Bowl against the Patriots. He was jammed by a Pats defender and landed awkwardly, falling to the ground and clutching his knee. He was carted off the field and was on crutches during the Giants' celebration following the win.

Knee - Doubtful for start of regular season

The Newark Star-Ledger reports Saturday that the Giants have placed LB Jonathan Goff (knee) on injured reserve. The team signed DE Justin Trattou off the practice squad. Goff is done for the season after tearing his ACL.

Knee - IR. Out for the season

Giants DL Jimmy Kennedy was re-instated by the NFL on Monday after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.

Giants WR Hakeem Nicks finished with game highs in receptions (10) and yards (109) during New York's 21-17 victory over New England in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday night. Nicks topped the century mark for the third time in four playoff games as he averaged a stellar 10.9 yards per catch against the Patriots. He served as the go-to receiver for QB Eli Manning and was targeted a staggering 13 times, which represented a team best.

The Giants added DB Will Blackmon to the roster on Wednesday and placed DB Michael Coe (shoulder) on IR.

Giants DB Antrel Rolle totaled seven solo tackles in Week 16 against the Jets. He is up to 88 tackles in 15 games.

With TE Jake Ballard (knee) out for Week 16 against the Jets, Giants TE Bear Pascoe will probably be in the starting lineup. “He plays hard and gives it everything he has,” coach Tom Coughlin said of Pascoe. “That is one thing about that guy. He is a tough guy and he does everything that you ask him to do.” TEs average 7.7 Fantasy points per week and have totaled four touchdowns against the Jets this season.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin confirmed the signings of S Deon Grant and S Derrick Martin on Tuesday. Coughlin said he likes Grant's character as well as his ability to make smart plays and added that Martin can contribute on special teams.

Giants RB Brandon Jacobs rushed nine times for 37 yards during New York's 21-17 victory over New England in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday night. Jacobs overcame a pair of lowly performances in his past two playoff games and averaged a quality 4.1 yards per attempt against the Patriots. He still remains the secondary option for the Giants behind RB Ahmad Bradshaw, who finished with a game-high 72 yards on 17 rush attempts.

The Giants have cut DB Seth Williams from their practice squad.

Giants LB Jacquian Williams was credited with two tackles in Week 6 against Buffalo. He also managed a pass defensed.

Giants LB Mark Herzlich left Week 12 against the Saints in the third quarter due to an ankle injury. He said X-rays on his injured ankle were negative. He also said there's no swelling in the ankle, but it is sore. Herzlich finished with three tackles before being forced from the game.

The Giants placed WR Michael Clayton on IR on Saturday. Clayton had been added to the official injury report for the Monday night game in New Orleans in Week 12 earlier on Saturday. Clayton was questionable with a knee injury but the Giants decided to end his season instead as it was discovered that he has a torn meniscus, reports the Giants' official site. Clayton will have surgery on Monday.

TE Ben Patrick, who was briefly with the Giants during training camp before suddenly retiring, has ended his retirement, according to multiple reports. Patrick claimed he needed to resolve some personal issues before resuming his career back in August. The Giants promptly released him after Patrick was reinstated by the NFL on Thursday, he told the Savannah Morning News.

Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw amassed 91 total yards from scrimmage and scored a touchdown during New York's 21-17 victory over New England in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday. Bradshaw, who finished with a game-high 72 yards on 17 carries, scampered into the end zone on a 6-yard run with 1:04 remaining in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring. He also added 19 yards on two receptions while being targeted three times.

The Sports Xchange reports that an MRI revealed a torn ACL for Giants LB Clint Sintim. He hurt his knee in Thursday's preseason finale against the Patriots. On Thursday it was reported that he suffered a ruptured patella tendon.

Giants rookie LB Spencer Paysinger left Week 13 against the Packers due to a hamstring injury. Paysinger sustained the injury in the first quarter and did not return to the contest. He did not record a tackle prior to leaving the game.

The Giants waived DT Dwayne Hendricks on Monday to make room for DT Jimmy Kennedy. Kennedy is coming off a four-game suspension for using performance enhancing drugs.

Giants RB D.J. Ware suffered a concussion in his team's Wild Card game against the Falcons. He had one carry for 4 yards and one catch for 13 yards before leaving the game.

Giants CB Michael Coe will need shoulder surgery and will be gone for the season, coach Tom Coughlin said on Monday. Coe re-injured his shoulder Week 11 against the Eagles.

Shoulder - IR. Out for the season

Giants K Lawrence Tynes converted both field-goal attempts and his lone extra point during New York's 21-17 victory over New England in Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday night. Tynes converted kicks of 38 and 33 yards -- both in the third quarter -- to finish with multiple field goals for the third consecutive playoff game.

The Giants waived/injured WR Duke Calhoun on Tuesday.

Giants DB Deon Grant recorded his first interception of the season in Week 9 against the Patriots. He picked off QB Tom Brady in the third quarter and also finished with four tackles in the 24-20 win.

The Giants announced that they have re-signed DT Rocky Bernard, who was released by the team less than a week ago. Bernard was reportedly asked to renegotiate his deal when the lockout ended, but he and the team couldn’t come to an agreement at the time.

The Sports Xchange reports that LB Zak DeOssie (back) will not be able to participate in two-a-days until he receives approval from the medical staff.

The Giants drafted DT Linval Joseph in the second round of the NFL Draft at No. 46 overall. Joseph, from East Carolina, is 6-foot-5, 328 pounds and will look to help the Giants improve their run defense.

Giants DL Chris Canty, who was a half sack on the season, was credited with his first full sack in Week 4 against the Bears. He finished with five tackles and was credited with two tackles for a loss in the 17-3 victory.

The Giants signed LB Chase Blackburn on Wednesday.

Giants rookie WR/PR Jerrel Jernigan was taken in for X-rays on his wrist late in the fourth quarter after being injured Thursday night in the preseason finale against New England. Prior to getting hurt Jernigan had one catch for 14 yards and one carry for minus-6 yards.
