The Jets have announced the inactives for their Week 2 game at New England. Out are QB Erik Ainge, LB Ryan Fowler, DL Mike Devito, DL Ropati Pitoitua, TE Matthew Mulligan, DL Howard Green and QB Kevin O'Connell.

The Jets had two players get two interceptions each Sunday against the Panthers in Darrelle Revis and Kerry Rhodes. Revis added two tackles also. Eric Smith and Jim Leonhard each had eight tackles, David Harris and Calvin Pace each had seven tackles and a sack and Bart Scott and Shaun Ellis each had four tackles.

The Cleveland Browns have signed defensive end Brian Schaefering and released wide receiver Paul Raymond. The team announced the moves Tuesday.

Jets nose tackle Kris Jenkins has been placed on season-ending injured reserve with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Coach Rex Ryan said the team would re-sign veteran defensive tackle Howard Green to make up for the loss of Jenkins, who was injured while making a tackle in the second quarter of the Jets' 16-13 overtime loss to Buffalo on Sunday. Jenkins, in his second season with New York, is considered a centerpiece of Ryan's aggressive defense, especially against the run.

Knee - IR. Out for the season

Jets RB Thomas Jones played well Sunday against the Panthers. He had 25 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown and also caught three passes for 11 yards.

Jets RB/KR Leon Washington expects to fully recover from his broken right leg, and is "very optimistic" about working out with the team when it begins offseason programs in March. Washington made his first public appearance at the team's facility Thursday since suffering a compound fracture of the tibia and fibula last month in a game at Oakland. He had a rod inserted into the tibia, and Washington said he's "98-99 percent" past any threat of infection to the leg. Doctors told him the injury takes anywhere from six to 12 months to heal. Washington also said he has no regrets about playing out the final year of his rookie contract, rather than accept the team's offer in the offseason.

Lowery has a high ankle sprain, suffered last Sunday in the loss at New England. He will likely be replaced in the starting lineup by Lito Sheppard. Justin Miller, inactive the last two games, will also likely take over on kickoff returns. Strickland, a key backup, suffered a concussion against the Patriots when he was hit hard by tackle Mark LeVoir on a block.

The Buffalo Bills signed six players Thursday, including five who finished the season on the team's practice squad. Among the players re-signed were fullback Jonathan Evans, receiver Felton Huggins, cornerback E.J. Underwood and defensive end Shaun Nua. The Bills also signed defensive back Jon Corto, who spent part of the season on their practice squad.

New York Jets CB Darrelle Revis and safeties Kerry Rhodes and Jim Leonhard fully participated in practice and appear set to play against the New Orleans Saints. It was encouraging news for the Jets on Thursday after Revis (hamstring) and Rhodes (knee) were limited Wednesday, while Leonhard (knee) didn't practice. The Jets will surely need all three starters Sunday against Drew Brees and the Saints' top-ranked offense. CB Lito Sheppard (right quadriceps) and CB Donald Strickland (right ankle) didn't practice again, and coach Rex Ryan said "they're iffy, especially Strickland." LB Larry Izzo (hamstring) also returned to practice.

Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery had one catch for 12 yards Sunday against Carolina. Cotchery came into this game riding a hot streak with nine catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns the past two games against Jacksonville and New England.

On Monday, the Bears placed DL Antonio Garay (leg) and DT Anthony Adams (triceps) on Injured Reserve, promoting DT Babatunde Oshinowo from the practice squad.

Jets QB Mark Sanchez, who briefly left Sunday's game against Carolina with a left knee injury, was 13 of 17 passing for 154 yards and an interception. He also had three carries for 27 yards. After the game, Sanchez said he was totally fine. "I guess it was just an awkward fall and he kind of landed on my leg," he said. "They checked out all the ligaments and stuff and it looks good."

The New York Jets have signed free agent linebacker Ryan Fowler and waived fullback Jason Davis. Fowler was released by Tennessee on Sunday after two seasons with the Titans. An outstanding special teams player, Fowler has played in 62 games, including 21 starts. He spent his first three seasons with Dallas after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Duke. Davis was claimed off waivers from Chicago on Sunday.
