The Steelers added the following players to their practice squad on Sunday: WR Tyler Grisham, RB Isaac Redman, RB Justin Vincent, TE Dezmond Sherrod, DL Steve McLendon and LB Donovan Woods.

Steelers LB Lawrence Timmons (ankle) and DE Travis Kirschke (calf) did not practice Monday. Coach Mike Tomlin said he's more optimistic about Timmons' injury than Kirschke's. Kirschke replaced injured DE Aaron Smith in the starting lineup three weeks ago. DE Nick Eason, who was inactive for four of the first five games, and rookie DE Ziggy Hood, who averages only six plays a game, would take Kirschke's place if he can't play against Denver in Week 9.

Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall laughed at the Broncos rush defense during the Monday night win in Denver in Week 9. Mendenhall torched Denver for 155 yards on 22 carries in the game and continually ripped off big runs when it mattered most for the Steelers. He added one catch for 9 yards.

Pittsburgh RB Stefan Logan did not factor offensively in the win on Monday night of Week 9 against the Broncos. He did return kicks.

All teams must reduce their rosters to 53 players by 6 p.m. Saturday. Philadelphia will face a few difficult decisions. Quarterback Michael Vick is not eligible to play in the first two regular-season games, but may remain on the active roster. Former second-round pick Reggie Brown could be the odd man out in the Eagles' crowded receiver corps.

Wallace caught four passes for 69 yards in the game and recorded a 25-yard TD reception in the 4th quarter from QB Ben Roethlisberger. Wallace added one rushing attempt on an end around and went for 3 yards.

Pittsburgh SS Tyrone Carter picked off a Kyle Orton pass that seemingly just landed in his arms in the 2nd quarter of the Monday night game at Denver. Carter took the interception 48 yards to the house for the defensive touchdown to give the Steelers a 7-3 lead at the time. Carter later added another interception of Orton that iced the game for the Steelers.

A knee injury will sideline TE Sean McHugh for the entire season. He was placed on injured reserve.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are playing it safe with safety Ryan Clark and holding him out of the team's game at Denver on Monday night. Clark nearly died following a game in Denver two years ago because of a rare blood disorder that is aggravated by playing in high altitude. Clark had his spleen and gall bladder removed during separate operations and he lost 30 pounds after the Oct. 21, 2007, game in Invesco Field that ended his season. Many of Clark's teammates told him he should skip this game.

Illness - Missed Week 9 at Denver

Steelers defensive end Aaron Smith has a right shoulder injury that will sideline him for the rest of the season. The team has placed him on injured reserve. Smith was injured Sunday in Detroit. Travis Kirschke, Nick Eason and rookie Evander Hood will be used in his place.

Big Ben orchestrated a victory as he threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns with just one pick on 21 of 29 passing. Big Ben also rushed twice for minus-3 yards. Roethlisberger hit Hines Ward twice in the end zone, both from 3 yards out, and added a 25-yard TD pass to Mike Wallace.

The Titans released DE Larry Birdine, LB Rocky Boiman, TE Casey Cramer, CB Tanard Davis, CB DeMarcus Faggins, FB Rodney Ferguson, LB Ryan Fowler, RB Quinton Ganther (injured), S Tuff Harris, WR Mark Jones, DT Mitch King, WR Phillip Morris, TE Matthew Mulligan, DT LaJuan Ramsey, S Nick Schommer, LB Josh Stamer and WR Paul Williams.

Pittsburgh WR Hines Ward had his best game of the season during the Week 9 win over the Broncos on Monday night in Denver. Ward hooked up with Ben Roethlisberger for seven catches for 44 yards and two touchdowns. Ward was found in the back of the end zone from 3 yards out in the 3rd quarter and helped ice the win in the 4th quarter with another 3-yard TD catch from Big Ben.

Coach Tony Dungy has ruled running back Dominic Rhodes out of Sunday's regular-season finale vs. Tennessee. He likely would have played if it were a playoff game, but Dungy wants them to rest. "Dom's down a little bit, so he's definitely out of this game," Dungy said. Signs point to Joseph Addai playing (Dungy said that he's ready), but he'll be limited. Chad Simpson and Najeh Davenport will split whatever carries Addai doesn't pick up.

The Steelers signed WR Marvin Allen as part of the NFL International Practice Squad Program. He is expected to be on the practice squad all season.

Deshea Townsend scored on a 26-yard interception return with 1:40 remaining as the Pittsburgh Steelers scored their only two touchdowns 24 seconds apart to rally from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter and deal the Dallas Cowboys a potentially damaging loss, winning 20-13 Week 14. On second-and-8 from the Cowboys 17, tight end Jason Witten ran the wrong pass route, allowing Townsend to step in front of the pass for the fifth turnover forced by Pittsburgh's league-leading defense. Townsend finished with three tackles.
