Rams DB Craig Dahl (seven tackles, sack) and DB Oshiomogho Atogwe (six tackles, sack) had nice performances in a Week 5 loss to the Vikings.

Rams long snapper Chris Massey will miss the rest of the season after tearing a left knee ligament in the second quarter of a Week 7 loss to the Colts.

Rams K Josh Brown kicked a 55-yard field goal and two extra points, but missed a 46-yard effort in a Week 12 loss to the Seahawks.

The Rams cut their 2006 second-round pick, tight end Joe Klopfenstein, on Tuesday. In three seasons, Klopfenstein had 33 catches for 386 yards and two touchdowns. Also released were undrafted rookies cornerback Marcus Brown and wide receiver Jarrett Byers. The Rams also put WR Brooks Foster on injured reserve.

On Tuesday, RB Darius Walker and LB Kelly Poppinga were signed to the Rams' practice squad and S David Roach and FB Russ Weil were released from the Rams' practice squad.

The St. Louis Rams announced a practice squad of seven players Monday. There is room for one additional player on the practice squad. The list includes QB Brock Berlin, DT Keith Jackson, WR Derek Stanley, WR Dominique Thompson, CB Darius Vinnett and RB John David Washington.

Rams linebacker David Vobora took the majority of snaps with the first string Wednesday in his first practice since a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. The second-year player says he did nothing wrong and intends to file a lawsuit over the matter. Vobora said he was informed of the pending suspension in July and dropped his appeal of the decision. Vobora accepted the suspension after sustaining a concussion against the Packers, which would have sidelined him for a week anyway. During the suspension, Vobora said he worked out three times a day and watched the winless Rams' games on television. The Rams play at Detroit on Sunday.

Rams DL Chris Long recorded his third sack of the season Week 11 against the Cardinals. He has one sack in each of his last three games.

The Rams have lost leading wide receiver Keenan Burton for the rest of the season, the result of a right knee injury in Sunday's 28-23 loss to New Orleans. The Rams placed Burton on injured reserve Monday with a torn patella tendon. Burton, a second-year player out of Kentucky, was hurt on a pass in the first quarter when he fell awkwardly in the end zone while the Saints' Usama Young made an interception. Burton led the Rams with 25 catches for 253 yards.

The Rams have declared the inactives for their Week 5 game vs. St. Louis: CB Anthony Smith, CB James Butler, WR Ruvell Martin, DE Victor Adeyanju and DT Darell Scott.

Rams WR Ruvell Martin made two catches for 60 yards in a Week 12 loss to Seattle.

Rams DB James Butler recorded his second interception of the game on Sunday in the team's Week 8 win over the Lions. He also had four tackles in the game.

Rams QB Kyle Boller completed 28 of 46 passes for 282 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in a Week 12 loss to the Seahawks. Boller also ran three times for 26 yards.

Rams TE Daniel Fells made one catch for 25 yards in a Week 12 loss to Seattle.

Rams WR Brandon Gibson made three catches for 18 yards in a Week 12 loss to Seattle.

The St. Louis Rams were busy Monday when they tweaked their roster, nearly filled the practice squad and elected their five captains. Two days after cutting 13 more players to get down to the final 53-man roster, the Rams made more changes. Monday morning, the team signed cornerback Ricky Manning Jr. to a one-year contract and released defensive back Eric Bassey.

Rams DT Gary Gibson has a broken bone in his foot or ankle, an injury that will require surgery and end his season, coach Steve Spagnuolo said after Sunday's loss to the Vikings. Gibson became a starter in Week 1 when DT Adam Carriker was lost for the season with a shoulder injury.

Rams rookie cornerback Bradley Fletcher will miss the rest of the season with two torn ligaments in his right knee. Fletcher, a third-round pick, started for the third straight game and was injured in the second half of Sunday's 42-6 loss to the Colts. He'll require two operations and coach Steve Spagnuolo said Monday he might not be ready for the start of next season.

On Friday, the Rams waived WR Matt Caddell, S Jerome Carter, TE Nick Cleaver, CB Tanard Davis, CB Cortney Grixby, WR Marques Hagans, LB Marcus Riley, DT Henry Smith and DT Willie Williams.

Rams CB Jonathan Wade continues to get more time working with the Rams first team, alternating with Tye Hill. Since being drafted No. 15 overall in 2006, Hill hasn't lived up to his first-round status. Wade was a third-round pick in 2007. Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo on Wade's increased playing time with the first team: "Some of that is, if the guys work with the same people all the time, you don't find out what's going to happen when they do move up."

The 49ers released a number of players to get down to the 53-man roster maximum on Saturday. Rams QB Keith Null dressed as Kyle Boller's backup in a Week 12 loss to the Seahawks but failed to get in the game.

Rams WR Donnie Avery caught four passes for 48 yards and a touchdown in a Week 12 loss to the Seahawks.

Rams RB Steven Jackson lugged through a 23-carry, 89-yard effort with a touchdown and five receptions for 27 yards in Week 12 vs. the Seahawks with a sore back. Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said Monday that Jackson's back is still sore and that the team would be cautious with him again this week leading up to their Week 13 game at Chicago.

The Rams have signed long snapper Ryan Neill to replace Chris Massey, lost for the season with a knee injury in Sunday's 41-7 loss to the Colts. Neill, who played for the Bills in 2007-08, prevailed in a four-player tryout Tuesday. He was cut in training camp and got the thumbs up from St. Louis punter Donnie Jones and kicker Josh Brown. "When you're with somebody for 2 1/2 years and all of a sudden you've got to switch, of course it's going to be different," Jones said. "But things happen and you've got to adjust."

The St. Louis Rams have placed wide receiver Laurent Robinson on injured reserve. Robinson, who leads the Rams with 13 receptions with one touchdown as their emerging go-to receiver, has a right ankle sprain and a fractured leg. He will not play again this season.
