The Giants on Tuesday waived receiver Michael Jennings and waived safety Terrance Stringer from the injured list. Safety Craig Dahl was waived injured on Monday. Receiver D.J. Hall and safety Miguel Scott were also waived.

The following Rams players did not record an offensive statistic in Week 1 at Philadelphia: QB Trent Green, WR Keenan Burton, RB Travis Minor, RB Antonio Pittman, RB Dan Kreider, LS Chris Massey.

Rams kicker Josh Brown converted two field goals and three extra points in Week 17 in Atlanta. He finished with nine points for the game and 112 for the season.

The Rams re-signed defensive end Eric Moore and signed three other players Monday: quarterback Jeff Otis, defensive back Marcus Brown and tight end Eric Butler. Moore is a four-year veteran who played in seven games for St. Louis in 2008. Otis is the son of former St. Louis Cardinals running back Jim Otis. He has been on practice squads for the Chiefs and Raiders.

On Tuesday, RB Darius Walker and LB Kelly Poppinga were signed to the Rams' practice squad and S David Roach and FB Russ Weil were released from the Rams' practice squad.

Rams head coach Jim Haslett said Friday that seventh-round draft pick David Vobora will start at middle linebacker in place of Will Witherspoon vs Miami in Week 13. Witherspoon will play, but only on third downs and in two-minute drill situations, according to Haslett. Vobora will wear the headset for the Rams defense.

The Rams listed the following players as inactive for Week 17 in Atlanta: QB Brock Berlin, DB Fakhir Brown, DB David Roach, DL Eric Moore and DL Antwon Burton.

The St. Louis Rams announced a practice squad of seven players Monday. There is room for one additional player on the practice squad. The list includes QB Brock Berlin, DT Keith Jackson, WR Derek Stanley, WR Dominique Thompson, CB Darius Vinnett and RB John David Washington.

The Cincinnati Bengals obtained running back Brian Leonard in a trade with St. Louis in exchange for DT Orien Harris. The Bengals claimed Harris on waivers from New Orleans last August. He played mainly on special teams.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Rams are looking for help at the WR spot. Donnie Avery, Keenan Burton and Laurent Robinson finish the spring as the top three wideouts, but Burton has missed valuable practice time because of a hamstring injury. The report asks if there another Isaac Bruce or Torry Holt in that group, or among backups Brooks Foster, Tim Carter and Chad Lucas? "We have a ways to go," QB Marc Bulger said. "I don't think there will ever be another Torry and Isaac, but our guys are working hard. They're starting to make plays. I think they are playing faster now because they are starting to learn what's going on."

Rams DL Chris Long failed to record a sack in a Week 13 loss to the Dolphins as he went up against fellow first-round pick, OL Jake Long. Chris Long is now without a sack in his last five games.

Texas RB Chris Ogbonnaya was a late pick of the Rams in the 2009 draft. Ogbonnaya didn't play full-time with the Longhorns but was considered a solid receiver out of the backfield. He even had more receiving yards (540) than rushing yards (373) last year. He might wind up having a productive career as a third-down back or goal-line back, though he doesn't have the blazing speed you like from players at the position.

According to the Bengals' official team site, before Wednesday night's practice the Bengals waived rookie wide receiver Travis Brown of New Mexico, with an injury settlement (hamstring). Brown was acquired by the Bengals on waivers from Seattle on May 6. The move leaves the club one below the roster limit of 80.

According to The Sports Xchange, Rams WR Derek Stanley is still dealing with issues following last year's knee injury. During OTA workouts, Stanley would work in individual drills, but as soon as they were over, he would go to the sideline to ride the bike and do other conditioning exercises with the strength coaches. Stanley suffered a torn ACL during the season and was anxious to show the team's new coaches what he can do. Said coach Steve Spagnuolo, "We didn't want to do anything with him throughout the OTAs. The hope is that as soon as we open up training camp, he'll be full-go."

Knee - Questionable for start of training camp

Rams DB Oshiomogho Atogwe had an interception -- his fifth -- and a fumble recovery Week 16 against the 49ers. He also had seven solo tackles.

According to a report by The Sports Xchange, Rams WR Keenan Burton might be getting a bad label. Burton missed most of the OTAs because of a slight hamstring injury. He was bothered all last season by a knee injury, so he has to avoid being labeled as "injury prone."

The St. Louis Rams solidified their secondary and backfield with a pair of free agent signings Wednesday, giving safety James Butler a four-year contract and adding veteran fullback Mike Karney. The 26-year-old Butler will be reunited with new Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo, his defensive coordinator the last two seasons with the New York Giants. The 5-foot-11, 255-pound Karney has started 46 games in five seasons with the Saints. He'll be expected to provide reliable lead blocking for Steven Jackson.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Rams QB Kyle Boller's "right arm is a gun." The paper states "obviously he's fully recovered from the shoulder surgery he had last September."

The Sports Xchange reports Rams TE Daniel Fells was the offseason standout this year. Fells showed flashes of being a playmaker in 2008 after being signed off the Buccaneers' practice squad, and showed he might be a dangerous weapon during OTAs. Fells has good size, speed and hands, and the West Coast offense being implemented by offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur will utilize the TE. The question is whether he will able to produce on the field during games like he has in practice.

Niners TE Billy Bajema, WR Dominique Zeigler, TE Delanie Walker, TE Sean Ryan, TE Brian Jennings and QB J.T. O'Sullivan didn't record offensive statistics Week 16 at St. Louis.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports there remains no clear-cut No. 2 RB behind starter Steven Jackson, who has missed eight games entirely and most of two others because of injury over the past two seasons. The paper reports that so far it looks like Kenneth Darby is the leading contender for the No. 2 spot. Antonio Pittman would also be in the mix after the Rams traded Brian Leonard to Cincinnati this offseason. Coach Steve Spagnuolo said the competition remains wide open between Pittman and Darby. "I'm not going to pin one against the other," Spagnuolo said. "I think both of the guys are picking up the system pretty well. I think both add certain things. Again, I would say I'm real anxious to see the competition when they put the pads on."

The St. Louis Rams were busy Monday when they tweaked their roster, nearly filled the practice squad and elected their five captains. Two days after cutting 13 more players to get down to the final 53-man roster, the Rams made more changes. Monday morning, the team signed cornerback Ricky Manning Jr. to a one-year contract and released defensive back Eric Bassey.

Rams DL James Hall recorded his first sack in three games Week 15 against the Seahawks. It was his only tackle. He now has 5 1/2 sacks on the season.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Rams TE Randy McMichael is ready to play a bigger role this year after two disappointing seasons with the team. A prolific pass-catcher in Miami, where he averaged 56 receptions and 619 yards over five seasons, McMichael spent the bulk of his first year with the Rams blocking because of injuries to the offensive line. He finished with just 39 catches and 429 yards in 2007 after arriving here as a free agent. He was on pace last year to reprise his Dolphins numbers when he suffered a broken bone in his lower right leg in Week 4 vs. Buffalo. A healthy McMichael figures to be a key component in the West Coast-style offense that new coordinator Pat Shurmur is installing, first-year coach Steve Spagnuolo pointed out.

Leg - Probable for the start of training camp

The Carolina Panthers have placed defensive tackle Gary Gibson on injured reserve with a hand injury, further depleting the most banged-up position on the team. The Panthers filled the roster spot Tuesday by signing J'Vonne Parker, who had been on Atlanta's practice squad. The 6-foot-4, 325-pound Parker has appeared in 11 games with Cleveland, Dallas and Baltimore since 2005. Gibson backed up Maake Kemoeatu and Damione Lewis, and saw action in Sunday's loss to the New York Giants before injuring his hand. Kemoeatu didn't play because of a sprained right ankle, and Lewis was sidelined in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury. The injuries helped the Giants rush for 301 yards.

St. Louis LB Quinton Culberson was the team's leading tackler against the Jets in a 47-3 loss in Week 10. Culberson finished with 11 stops and now has 30 on the season in nine games.

Iowa CB Bradley Fletcher was selected by the Rams in the 2009 draft. Fletcher is the perfect kind of press-type cornerback they're looking for to help their secondary, and his quality size (6-foot-1, 196 pounds) and toughness make him valuable.

St. Louis Rams cornerback Justin King's rookie season is over before it started after he tore a ligament in his left big toe in Saturday night's preseason opener against Tennessee. The injury will require season-ending surgery. "He said it was just a fluke deal and said he got it trapped under a guy's foot or stepped funny and rolled over it," coach Scott Linehan said. King will be placed on injured reserve. The fourth-round draft choice from Penn State had made a strong early impression in camp and was working as the team's third cornerback against Tennessee. Thought to be more of a raw prospect than an instant contributor, King proved to be more ready for game action than originally thought. He was playing regularly in the team's nickel package against the Titans before coming out with about 2 minutes left in the first quarter. "It's a weird kind of deal," Linehan said. "I feel bad for him because he worked really hard and was really going to push for a lot of playing time."

The Rams added a key piece to their defense with the addition of Ohio State LB James Laurinaitis with their second-round pick. Laurinaitis is expected to start right away in the middle of the Rams defense and contribute as a defensive play caller and run stopper.

The Rams, after allowing 522 yards in Week 1 against Philadelphia, gave up 441 yards and 41 points in Week 2 against the Giants. They did not force any turnovers and only recorded one sack, by Victor Adeyanju.

Rams DB O.J. Atogwe (thigh), DT Adam Carriker (ankle), LB Chris Chamberlain (illness) and DE Leonard Little (hamstring) are probable for Week 10 at the Jets.

DL Leonard Little is listed as probably for Week 15 against the Seahawks. Little has been suffering a hamstring injury.

West Texas A&M QB Keith Null was drafted by the Rams in the 2009 draft. Null was a prolific Division II passer who threw for 5,097 yards and 48 touchdowns as a senior. Many view him as a system-type quarterback as West Texas A&M ran a spread offense.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Daniel Fells has passed Joe Klopfenstein on the Rams' TE depth chart and seems like a suitable No. 2 tight end for the team behind starter Randy McMichael. Fells has been making quality catches in practice. "He's very athletic, been making a lot of plays," coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "We don't know the blocking part yet, because we don't have the pads on. But I'm very pleased."

The St. Louis Rams re-signed cornerback Ron Bartell to a four-year contract, addressing one of their free agent priorities on Wednesday. Terms were not disclosed, but the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Bartell will get $13.6 million in guaranteed money, with the overall deal reaching $28 million if incentives are met. Bartell started 14 games last season. He tied a career high with three interceptions last season and broke up 20 passes, the most by a Ram since Jerametrius Butler had 22 in 2004. "It was apparent to us that Ron fits the mold we are looking for in our defensive players," new coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "Ron is a good player and an even better person. We are glad he will be a part of our team."
