If Long decides to return next season, the Rams are already considering where he might play along the offensive line.

Mark Barron
News
Safety Mark Barron said he "was definitely in shock" when he learned the news he was being traded from the Buccaneers to the Rams Tuesday.

However, now that the shock has worn off, Barron is excited for a new start with the Rams, particularly because he feels he is better suited for St. Louis' defensive scheme, per ESPN.

"Did I think we could have been doing more, using me more? Yeah, I do," Barron said of his defensive role with the Bucs. "But I wouldn’t say it played against my strengths. It was just the way the system was ran.

"[Tampa's system] is passive. That’s kind of the only thing I didn’t like about it. A lot of times I had to sit back and I couldn’t really be as aggressive as I wanted to in that system."

Lance Kendricks
News
Rams tight end Jared Cook caught five of seven targets for 41 yards in the Week 16 home loss to the Giants. But it was fellow tight end Lance Kendricks who found the end zone, scoring on a 23-yard catch down the seam in the third quarter.

Kendricks, who had two receptions for 35 yards, is up to five touchdowns this season, two more than Cook. This despite the fact that Cook has been targeted 91 times -- 55 more than Kendricks.

They'll both visit Seattle in Week 17.

Steven Baker
News
The Dolphins waived tackle Steven Baker and safety Demetrius Wright Monday and waived/injured kicker John Potter.

Emory Blake
News
The Rams have issued a series of cuts to reach the mandated roster of limit of 53 for the regular season.

Those on the offensive side of the ball are wide receivers Emory Blake, Austin Franklin and Justin Veltung, linemen Sean Hooey, Mitchell Van Dyk, Travis Bond and Brandon Washington, quarterback Garrett Gilbert and tight end Brad Smelley.

Defenders now gone are linemen Kourtnei Brown, Matt Conrath and Deantre Harlan, defensive backs Christian Bryant, Darren Woodard, Avery Cunningham and Greg Reid and linebackers Aaron Hill, Etienne Sabino, Phillip Seward and Lawrence Wilson.

The Rams also placed wideout Stedman Bailey on the reserved/suspended list.

Austin Davis
News
Rams coach Jeff Fisher, who on Monday said he was sticking with Austin Davis at quarterback, changed his mind and will start Shaun Hill against the Broncos, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Davis committed turnovers on three straight fourth-quarter possessions in the Week 10 loss at Arizona, and he's thrown four pick-sixes in eight starts.

Hill completed 8 of 13 passes for 81 yards with an interception in the season opener before injuring his thigh and getting replaced by Davis. Fisher said he decided to "go with experience" with Hill, a 10-year vet, and told the team at a meeting Wednesday morning, the report said.

James Laurinaitis
News
The Rams will have nearly all of their probable players Week 15 against the Cardinals.

Kenny Britt and James Laurinaitis are two of the bigger names on the list. Britt was listed on the injury report, though his issue was not injury related. Laurinaitis is dealing with an ankle injury.

The team will also have Cory Harkey, Will Herring, Rodger Saffold and Scott Wells. All four players came into the contest listed as probable.

Scott Wells
News
The Rams will have Janoris Jenkins, Chris Long and Scott Wells Week 17 against the Seahawks.

All three players came into the contest listed as probable, and were always expected to play. Jenkins is dealing with a back injury. Long was listed on the injury report, but it was for non-injury reasons. Wells also has a back issue. Both Wells and Jenkins fully participated in practice on Friday.

Michael Brockers
News
The Rams defense came up big Sunday, sacking 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick eight times in the team's 13-10 road win over San Francisco in Week 9.

While the offense was largely stagnant for 60 minutes, the Rams defense dominated the 49ers' offensive line to keep the team in the game and eventually pull off the win. Defensive end Robert Quinn led the charge with two sacks and a forced fumble, while linebacker James Laurinaitis and defensive linemen Michael Brockers, Aaron Donald, Eugene Sims and William Hayes each picked up a sack as well.

It was a stark departure from the same unit that failed to find much quarterback pressure over the first few weeks of the season. The Rams defense will hope to keep playing at an elite level in Week 10 against the Cardinals.

Alex Carrington
News
The Rams have listed CB E.J. Gaines, TE Justice Cunningham, OL Barrett Jones, OL Brandon Washington, TE Alex Bayer, DT Alex Carrington and DL Ethan Westbrooks as inactive against the Seahawks.

Gaines was the only player listed on the injury report. He was considered doubtful due to a concussion. The other six players listed are healthy scratches.

The Rams also placed wideout Stedman Bailey on the reserved/suspended list.

Lamarcus Joyner
News
The Rams have listed CB Lamarcus Joyner, CB Marcus Roberson, TE Justice Cunningham, OL Brandon Washington, TE Alex Bayer, DE Alex Carrington and DE Ethan Westbrooks as inactive Week 15 against the Cardinals.

Carrington was the only player listed on the injury report heading into the contest. He was considered probable due to a thigh injury. The other six players are considered healthy scratches.

Jo-Lonn Dunbar, E.J. Gaines, Cory Harkey, William Hayes and Rodney McLeod will all play. All five were listed as probable coming into the contest.

Janoris Jenkins, who was listed as questionable, will also give it a shot. Jenkins is dealing with a knee injury. Cody Davis will also try to play. He was questionable on the team's final injury report.

Greg Robinson
News
While veteran tackle Jake Long's status for 2015 remains up in the air as he returns from a second torn ACL in as many seasons, Rams coach Jeff Fisher indicated Greg Robinson will be the team's starting left tackle next season.

"We’re going to wait and see for Jake and see how he’s feeling," Fisher said. "He’s been in the building the last couple of days. All indications are that he wants to come back. Yeah, as we stand right now Greg’s going to be our left tackle."

If Long decides to return next season, the Rams are already considering where he might play along the offensive line.

"Jake’s a good enough athlete that he could play -- I’m not going to go out on a limb and say he could play center -- but yeah, he could play guard or play right tackle, I believe,” Fisher said.

Rodney McLeod

The Rams will have their probable players Week 10 against the Cardinals.

Jo-Lonn Dunbar, E.J. Gaines, Cory Harkey, William Hayes and Rodney McLeod will all play. All five were listed as probable coming into the contest.

News

Along with Austin, the Rams also listed the following players as probable for Sunday’s game against the Redskins: William Hayes, James Laurinaitis, Chris Long, Rodger Saffold, Scott Wells, Will Herring, Marcus Roberson and Davin Joseph.
