The Buffalo News reports the Bills have finalized their roster and made the necessary cuts to trim down to 53 players Saturday. The cuts included CB Will James, RB Dwayne Wright and LB Donnie Spragan. Also released were: TEs Courtney Anderson and Tim Massaquoi; LBs Jon Banks, Marcus Buggs and Blake Costanzo; DLs Jason Jefferson, Derrick Jones, Corey Mace and Teraz McCray; WRs Felton Huggins and Scott Mayle; RBs Bruce Hall and Jonathan Evans; and CB Dustin Fox.

Titans rookie Jason Jones, who started for injured DL Albert Haynesworth in Week 16 against Pittsburgh, had 3½ sacks and forced Ben Roethlisberger into three fumbles.

The Miami Dolphins have announced the inactives for their Week 15 game vs. San Francisco. Not in uniform will be: QB John Beck (third QB), WR Chris Hannon (coach's decision), RB Casey Cramer (coach's decision), DE Lionel Dotson (coach's decision), LB Quentin Moses (coach's decision) and DE Rodrique Wright (coach's decision).

The Giants acquired wide receiver-returner Craphonso Thorpe on waivers on Friday. Thorpe was waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier this week. He played five games last season for the Indianapolis Colts, catching 12 passes for 70 yards and a touchdown, while averaging 21.2 yards on kickoff returns. His best game was in the regular season finale against Tennessee, when he caught six passes for 23 yards, including a 3-yard touchdown.

Notable Titans defenders from Week 14 vs. San Diego include: DE Kyle Vanden Bosch (eight total tackles, three sacks), LB David Thornton (six solo tackles), DB Michael Griffin (seven total tackles, interception), DB Calvin Lowry (seven total tackles, interception), CB Nick Harper (five total tackles, interception), DT Albert Haynesworth (four total tackles, sack) and DB Donnie Nickey (two solo tackles, sack). Keith Bulluck added one solo tackle.

With the No. 1 seed locked up, the Titans listed LenDale White as their starter for Week 17 against the Colts in Indy, but he saw just seven carries for 25 yards. Teammate Chris Johnson was named inactive. Quinton Ganther led the team with 27 yards on four carries and Chris Henry added one carry for three yards.

The Titans have agreed to terms with kicker Rob Bironas on a multiyear contract. Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt said Wednesday in announcing the deal that Bironas is one of the best kickers in the NFL. In four seasons, Bironas has made 84.5 percent of his field-goal attempts. He's among the NFL leaders with 59 touchbacks on kickoffs. Last season, Bironas was 29-of-33 on field-goal attempts and accounted for 127 points. The Titans originally signed him as a free agent in 2005.

Titans reserve DL Kevin Vickerson was back at practice Wednesday after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on anabolic steroids and related substances.

According to The Rocky Mountain News, Denver has started making cuts to get down to the 53-player limit. Denver FB Cecil Sapp and WR Glenn Martinez were two of the more high-profile guys to be cut. Also released Saturday were QB Darrell Hackney, TEs Chad Mustard and Brett Pierce, DEs Paul Carrington and Larry Birdine and S Josh Barrett.

The Titans drafted WR Dominique Edison from Stephen F. Austin in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on Sunday with pick No. 206 overall.

At the NFL Rookie Symposium in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Titans rookie WR Kenny Britt told CBSSports.com in an exclusive interview that his hamstring is getting better, and he will be ready for training camp. Britt injured his hamstring in a May workout. "When training camp starts I'll be full go and ready at 100 percent," Britt said. "I'm going to take the time to get treatment and be ready to help the team out."

Hamstring - Questionable for start of training camp

At the NFL Rookie Symposium in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Titans rookie Jared Cook told CBSSports.com in an exclusive interview that he will be used at WR as well as his natural spot at TE. "It varies," Cook said. "They have me in different places. Hopefully I can come in and make an impact." Cook said he has learned a lot from veterans Bo Scaife and Alge Crumpler. He knows there is a competition for playing time, but Cook is happy for their leadership. "Bo and Alge, they want me to learn the offense," Cook said. "They want me to get out there. They feel like I can make a big impact to the team. The things they are showing me is helping me learn. It's wonderful."

The Nashville City Paper reports Titans WR Chris Davis knows he has to perform well now if he wants to make something from his NFL career. So far, he has done well this offseason. During the team's May and June OTA workouts, Davis has impressed the coaches. It's no secret that the Titans have made a conscious effort to upgrade their WR corps this offseason, having lured Nate Washington away from the Steelers and selecting Rutgers' Kenny Britt with their first-round pick. But Davis will be competing with fellow third-year WR Paul Williams for the final WR spot.

The Nashville City Paper reports Titans QB Patrick Ramsey doesn't want to settle for being the No. 3 passer behind Kerry Collins and Vince Young. Ramsey, who backed up Jay Cutler in Denver last year, signed a one-year free agent deal in Tennessee shortly after last year's third-stringer Chris Simms wound up with the Broncos. Ramsey, who played for Titans offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger in 2007, could get the chance to compete with Young for the right to be Collins' primary backup. "That's the situation I'm faced with," Ramsey said of being third on the depth chart currently. "Honestly, what I intend to do is come in here and play as well as I can and let that take care of itself. They just said come in and the best players are going to be moved up. Obviously, Kerry is the starter, and I'm going to be competing for the second job." Coach Jeff Fisher, however, has said Collins is first, Young is second and Ramsey is third for now. Still, as with all positions, Fisher said competition can be created based on performance. "We're going to play the best players, and we're going to have the best players in the backup roles," Fisher said.

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a contract with veteran Vincent Fuller, the team's primary nickel back for the past two seasons. Last season Fuller played in all 16 games and had a career-high 43 tackles and one forced fumble. In 2007 he returned an interception for a touchdown in consecutive games against New Orleans and Atlanta. Fuller was a fourth-round draft pick by the Titans out of Virginia Tech in 2005.

On Friday, the Rams waived WR Matt Caddell, S Jerome Carter, TE Nick Cleaver, CB Tanard Davis, CB Cortney Grixby, WR Marques Hagans, LB Marcus Riley, DT Henry Smith and DT Willie Williams.

The Titans are making a change at middle linebacker where the speedy Stephen Tulloch is replacing Ryan Fowler. The Titans signed the 6-foot-3 Fowler away from Dallas as a restricted free agent in March 2007, and he beat out Tulloch for the job. But the 5-11 Tulloch, their fourth-round draft choice in 2006 off of a great North Carolina State defense that also featured Mario Williams, started the final two games when Fowler hurt a shoulder. Tulloch also started three preseason games at outside linebacker, playing so well he had some teammates thinking he should be starting. Told that Tulloch would be starting, Fowler said there wasn't much discussion and he believes the move is indefinite.

The Nashville City Paper reports Titans QB Kerry Collins is looking forward to a good season in 2009 since he will be the starter from Day 1. Collins is focused and ready for training camp. "In the past, I've gone home for a week or so and not been around for a week or two at a time, but it's more important for me to be here day in and day out," Collins said. "The young guys, I think I'm more aware of how guys see me and how they view me as a leader of this team. I try to show them that I'm willing to do what it takes in the offseason to get ready for a season." Collins has personal goals attached to the 2009 season as well. With the upgrade in personnel with the additions of Nate Washington, Kenny Britt and Jared Cook, the veteran QB says the passing game needs to hold up its end of the bargain this year. "I thought we made good strides this offseason," Collins said. "Offensively, we built on things that we did well last year. We implemented some things that are going to help us and from a personnel standpoint we've gotten better. I'm excited about it."

New Titans WR Nate Washington took the practice field for the first time with his new teammates during a minicamp this week. He admits the adjustment from Pittsburgh to Tennessee has been more than just about getting used to a different part of the country, reports the Tennessean. "It's going to take a lot longer than what I thought. I thought I was just going to be able to step out there and have it happen," Washington said of adjusting to a new offense. "It's a totally different system. Slowly but surely, it's coming. They are taking their time with me, so that's good. But it's going to take some time." The Titans signed the speedy Washington to upgrade the receiving corps. After signing a big contract and putting up good numbers in Pittsburgh last season, however, Washington will be called upon to produce early on a team in need of playmakers. "Nate is a veteran guy who is coming into his own," QB Kerry Collins said. "He has a chance to make a real big impact right away."

Meet Dave Ball, Jacob Ford, Jason Jones and William Hayes. Two rookies, a third playing in his first season and the other on his fourth NFL team. Their mission? Keep the Titans from missing DT Albert Haynesworth and DE Kyle Vanden Bosch the rest of the regular season. Haynesworth sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee at the end of last week's loss in Houston and will sit out the final two games. Vanden Bosch is out after having minor surgery to repair a groin injury, but both are expected back for the divisional round of the playoffs.

Titans DB Cary Williams (quadricep) has been ruled out for Week 16 vs. Pittsburgh. He did not practice all week.

The Tennessean reports Titans rookie TE Jared Cook worked with the receivers in some drills during the team's OTA workout in May. The paper reports "the guy is clearly a heck of an athlete, and he made a number of catches."

The Titans drafted RB Javon Ringer from Michigan State in fifth round of the NFL Draft on Sunday with overall pick No. 173. Ringer has undergone two major knee surgeries during his college career. He will compete for playing time with Chris Henry as a backup to Chris Johnson and LenDale White.

Titans WR Justin McCareins caught a team-high six passes in Week 16 against Pittsburgh for 55 yards. His longest gain went for 19 yards.

Titans LB Keith Bulluck had 13 tackles in Week 16 against Pittsburgh to lead his team. He also forced a fumble in the game.

The Titans drafted TE Jared Cook from South Carolina in the third round of the NFL Draft at pick No. 89 overall. Cook is a physical specimen at 6-foot-5, 246 pounds. Cook ran the 40-yard-dash in 4.49 seconds, his vertical jump was 41 inches and he lifted 225 pounds 23 times on the bench. In 2008, Cook started 11 games and ranked second on the team with 37 receptions for 573 yards (15.5 avg) and three touchdowns.

The following Panthers did not record a stat in Week 16 at the Giants: QB Josh McCown, TE Dante Rosario, RB Nick Goings, RB Brad Hoover, TE Gary Barnidge and WR Mark Jones.

The Tennessean reports that Titans DE Jevon Kearse had arthroscopic knee surgery recently and missed the club's early May minicamp. "It was minor," head coach Jeff Fisher said. "(Doctors) just cleaned it out."

Knee - Probable for start of training camp

The Titans have listed the following players as inactive for Week 7 in Kansas City: DB Reynaldo Hill, RB Chris Henry, DL William Hayes, DL Tony Brown and QB Chris Simms.

Titans RB LenDale White has lost a lot of weight this offseason and has told the Tennessean that he plans to keep it off through the start of training camp. White looked bigger than the 261 pounds he was listed at last season but has apparently shedded over 40 pounds. "I am not going to let it all go to waste, not the way I feel," White said. "My body feels good - my knees, my ankles, everything feels great out there. And I am trying to keep it that same exact way. So whatever I have to do, I am going to maintain. And when I check into camp (my weight) won't be nothing over 230."

The Titans decided to keep rookie RB Rafael Little on the non-football injury list Tuesday. Little, who tore his ACL in January, had practiced with the team until the Titans were forced to make a decision. Fisher said Little will be ready to compete in training camp in 2009.

The Nashville City Paper reports during the final OTA workout for the Titans in June, Titans WR Justin Gage was held out with a leg injury.

Leg - Probable for start of training camp

The Tennessean reports Titans RB Chris Henry, who was a second-round pick in 2007, doesn't see a future in Tennessee with Chris Johnson, LenDale White and now Javon Ringer on the roster. "I need to step things up, and I am well capable to get in there and show what I can do," Henry said. "It is easy to get caught up in the (mess), and once you are in it is hard to climb out. It's been tough, but I am going to do my best. My teammates, everyone has been cool, from the starters to Pro Bowlers to the scout team players. I feel a lot of support… I just think a lot of people want to see me succeed and I am going to try and do that."

Elbow - Probable for start of training camp

Titans DB Michael Griffin had two interceptions in Week 16 against Pittsburgh. He returned one 83 yards for a touchdown. He also had four tackles in the game.

Titans LB Ken Amato (neck), LB Colby Bockwoldt (shoulder), DL Travis LaBoy (knee), LB Peter Sirmon (knee) and TE Cooper Wallace (thigh) are listed as questionable for Week 16 at Buffalo. He did not practice on Wednesday.

Tennessee signed DB Tuff Harris from their practice squad on Saturday. The Titans will play the Jets at home on Sunday in Week 12.

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with defensive tackle Jovan Haye. He spent the last two seasons in Tampa Bay. Haye, a four-year veteran, spent the majority of the past three years with Tampa Bay after beginning his career with the Carolina Panthers. He has 30 starts in 42 career games.

Tennessee DB Chris Hope picked up his fourth interception of the season in Week 10's victory over the Chicago Bears. Hope also had five tackles.

The Tennessean reports that Titans RB Chris Johnson has high expectations this year heading into his sophomore season. "I want to be NFL MVP, and lead the league in rushing," Johnson said. "I want to be named to another Pro Bowl. I like to set my goals high, and everything is possible." On the heels of his highly successful rookie season, the Titans want to put Johnson to work even more this fall. That could mean more carries and more catches, but also more creative ways to get them. The paper reports Johnson could be moved all over the field. "There's places we can move him, routes we can run with him, looks we can do with him that we held back last year because I thought I was stretching him too much," offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger said. "But C.J. needs to show he can do those things and he'll work at it. And the more he shows the more we can give him. If C.J. wants to learn it and work at it then we have a chance to move him all around the place."

Ankle - Probable for the start of 2009 training camp

The Titans placed backup linebacker Josh Stamer on injured reserve after he injured his groin Week 17 at Indianapolis.

Cornerback Demarcus Faggins, an original Texan, has returned from a hamstring injury with three good practices. After struggling last season and getting bombarded with criticism by fans and media, Faggins is competing for a job on the team.

The Tennessean reports the Titans lost WR Paul Williams for the rest of the June minicamp Tuesday. Williams suffered groin and ankle injuries when he went up to make a catch during practice. He didn't finish the session and isn't expected to be back on the practice field until training camp. The Titans will hold their last minicamp date on Friday. Training camp is scheduled for July 31. "Unfortunately today he is dealing with a groin," coach Jeff Fisher said of Williams. "He has really come on and has been running routes with strengths and power and not making mistakes. He has quietly been one of the most improved guys we've got. I hope he gets back quickly."

The Colts waived DL LaJuan Ramsey on Tuesday following the expected acquisition of John McCargo.
