Antonio Bryant Getting A Chance To Revive His Career With The Seahawks

Wide receiver Antonio Bryant is in Seattle to participate in the team's minicamp, according to sources with knowledge of the situation, and is taking a physical for the club.

Bryant has not played in the NFL since 2009 with Tampa; he was signed by the Bengals in 2010 while recovering from a knee injury and ended up being released prior to the season's start despite receiving roughly $8-million guaranteed. He never played a game for Cincinnati.

Bryant, a deep threat when healthy with elite speed, has been out of the NFL since, but is healthy and in shape and at age 31 hopes to get back. In 2008 he had over 1200 yards receiving with Tampa Bay, his best season as a pro. He entered the league with Dallas in 2002 as a second-round pick, and hopes to earn a contract with Seattle after this extended tryout.

The mere fact he has worked back to get a shot nearly two years removed from being released by the Bengals is noteworthy. The timing of this dovetails with a column I filed for CBSSports.com on forgotten players coming off injury who just may end up as free agent steals, so be on the lookout for that on Tuesday.
