Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton was meeting with team ownership Tuesday, according to team and league sources.
Horton is under consideration for the head coaching job, and that process is beginning with a meeting with ownership.
Horton is also set to interview with the Bills. Team president Russ Brandon is flying to Arizona to interview Horton and recently fired Cards coach Ken Whisenhunt, sources said, and also hopes to meet with Oregon coach Chip Kelly while in the West. Horton also has an interview set up with Cleveland, sources said.
Several coaches who know Whisenhunt believe the Bills' ownership situation and quarterback issues might scare him away, but the Bills are expected to make a strong push. Whisenhunt would have interest in the Chargers' job, but they might not go in his direction, and he would be in line for several offensive coordinator positions.
The Cardinals also are planning to interview Andy Reid, who league sources say is the definite favorite to land that job, and that Reid could very well keep Horton as his defensive coordinator if Horton does not land a head coaching job.
