Norv Turner has agreed to be the Vikings' new offensive coordinator, according to a league source.

Turner will leave the Browns, where he served as offensive coordinator for one season, and join Mike Zimmer's staff in Minnesota. Much of Zimmer's success will be predicated on finding and developing a quarterback, which is Turner's forte.

Turner became available after the Browns surprisingly fired head coach Rob Chudzinski after just one year on the job. Browns defensive coordinator Ray Horton has departed as well, taking over that same position with the Titans.

Turner is well regarded as an offensive play-caller. He has been a head coach with the Redskins, Raiders and Chargers and an offensive coordinator with the Cowboys, Dolphins and 49ers.
