Redskins' RGIII off to a start faster than he can run

NEW ORLEANS -- It didn't take long for Robert Griffin III to send a message to the rest of the league that the NFL won't faze him -- loudly, by the way.

How is completing your first 11 passes to open a career sound, as well as outplaying Drew Brees, who just happens to be the guy who holds the single-season record for passing yards?

Griffin played pitch-and-catch to beat the New Orleans Saints in a fast-tempo offense that definitely plays to his ability to run and get the ball out quick. He set the tone on the opening drive to a field goal, completing short passes to move the team to a field goal.

He never stopped.

Griffin was 11-13 in the first half for 182 yards and two scores, one of those an 88-yard dart to Pierre Garcon for a touchdown.

Yes, it's a different style and preparing for what he did is tough when you haven't seen it, but the kid has poise. He also was accurate with this throws, which is the important thing.

Maybe I was wrong about the Redskins. Maybe they will be better than I expected.

One thing's for sure: RGIII will be fun to watch, win or lose.
