It was a clean sweep last week. I was oh-for-three in my best bets.
What the heck happened to the hot streak?
I had been riding a pretty good wave, but that came crashing down on me in a big way. I took two home dogs in the Bucs and Giants, and they were ugly losses. I also had the Browns at home, and they didn't look good against the Bears.
So it's time to regroup. This week, it's all favorites -- two at home and one on the road.
You will be shocked at the road favorite I like.
Bengals (-7) vs. Vikings: The Bengals need a victory here to help their playoff chances and maybe even clinch a spot. The Vikings are playing for nothing. The Bengals are also 6-0 at home this season and they score a lot more points at home than on the road. The Vikings aren't good on defense. Andy Dalton has a big day.
Jets (-2½) vs. Browns: They face the Browns in a game that means nothing. In those cases, I like the home team. I think the Jets will show up and play hard for Rex Ryan, who is likely gone, in what could be his last home game as coach.
Cowboys (-2½) at Redskins: Yes, I know they imploded last week against the Packers. But I think they will rebound against a bad Redskins team that could have the crowd be a pro-Cowboys crowd. Kirk Cousins did some good things last week, but there is tape on him now. The Cowboys, who have been bad on defense, will play better here. Tony Romo has a big day.
