Video: Damian Lillard's game-winner against the Hornets

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

On a night in which Portland Trailblazers wing man Nicolas Batum recorded the first 5x5 (at least five points, assists, rebounds, blocks, and steals in one game) since Andrei Kirilenko did it in 2006, rookie sensation Damian Lillard managed to steal the show with a cold-blooded 3-pointer to give his team the win over the New Orleans Hornets.

Lillard inbounded the ball to Luke Babbitt, received the hand-off, and came back to his right before rising up for the 3-point attempt. With the way he's been killing teams this season, I can't say that I'm shocked he knocked this down. And considering he's only been in the NBA for a month and a half, that makes me very excited at just how good he can become.

He finished with 16 points on 5-of-14 shooting, including 4-of-10 from 3-point range. He helped finish off a fantastic 11-point, 10-assist, five-rebound, five-block, five-steal night by Batum.

If we keep adding guys like Lillard and Kyrie Irving to the NBA every draft, just being called a top-30 point guard in the NBA is going to be a huge honor.
