Marian Hossa ruled out for Game 4

By Adam Gretz | Hockey writer

After being taken off the ice on a stretcher on Tuesday night Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa has been ruled out for Game 4 of their series against the Phoenix Coyotes.

Midway through the first period of the Blackhawks 3-2 loss Hossa was on the receiving end of a brutal hit from Coyotes forward Raffi Torres. There was no penalty called on the play, but Torres has been suspended indefinitely and will have an in-person hearing with Brendan Shanahan on Friday.

Hossa was taken to a hospital but has since been released.

"I'm going to rule him out," Said Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville, via ESPN Chicago. "The prognosis? I'm not sure on that. There is no change from where the release was last night to where it is today. There is no change. He's home resting."
