Video: Jonathan Quick somehow prevents Blues from scoring tying goal

By Adam Gretz | Hockey writer
The St. Louis Blues didn't go down without a fight on Sunday afternoon and threw everything they had at Kings goalie Jonathan Quick in the third period of Los Angeles' 3-1 win.

Their best opportunity came with just under 10 minutes to play when Alex Pietrangelo had a clear path to the net down the middle of the ice. His initial shot was stopped by Quick, and while that save was impressive (just based on how wide open Pietrangelo was) the scramble that followed had to have Kings and Blues fans out of their seats.

Quick, with a potential assist from his teammate Anze Kopitar, somehow kept this puck from crossing the goal line during a frantic scramble that involved David Perron right in front of the net.

The Blues never really had a great chance after that and eventually gave up an empty net goal to Dustin Brown.
