Video: Marc Staal gets some good bounces for power play goal

By Adam Gretz | Hockey writer
NEW YORK -- This second period power play goal for the New York Rangers was initially credited to Derek Stepan for apparently banging in a loose puck in front of the crease. But after further review, it was eventually changed to defenseman Marc Staal, the man that originally blasted a one-timer from the top of the circle.

And what a path it took on its way into the back of the net behind Devils goalie Martin Brodeur.

Staal's one-timer deflected off Devils defenseman Bryce Salvador in front of the net, took a bounce off the end boards, then hit the back of Brodeur's leg and rolled into the net.

Sometimes in hockey you need a little bit of luck.
