If you weren't listening to the Blue Jackets' Sunday Morning Skate this morning on 97.1, you may have missed Jeff Rimmer reporting that the Boston Bruins are very interested in Rick Nash, and preparing to make a "major" offer in an attempt to land the winger.
That would be interesting. We learned at the trade deadline that the Jackets are asking for a king's ransom in return for Nash and the Bruins have the assets to intrigue. The question is would they be willing to give up any of them? We do know they'd have to do some moving to clear up enough room on the salary cap to fit Nash.
You figure the Jackets would start with Tuukka Rask to see if he's on the table at all -- I'd guess not, but that's just a guess. The other name you have to assume would be on Columbus' wish list is defenseman Dougie Hamilton, a big blueliner the Bruins took No. 9 overall last draft, a player that some believed could have played in the NHL this season.
Like any potential deal with Nash, it all depends on how tough the Jackets will be to deal with.
