Jonathan Quick undergoes 'minor surgery'

The Los Angeles Kings announced that goaltender Jonathan Quick underwent went what the team is calling a "minor surgical procedure" on Thursday to repair a disck fragment and an inflammatory cyst.
His rehab will begin in one week and it's expected that the surgery sideline him for at least six weeks.

Rich Hammond of LA Kings Insider spoke with assistant general manager Ron Hextall shortly after the news came out and was told that the team expects Quick should ready sometime near the start of training camp.
Of course, that's the scheduled start of training camp. Based on Thursday's CBA negotations the actual start of training camp could be, well, a little delayed.
Quick is coming off what was by far his best season in the NHL as he helped guide the Kings to their first ever Stanley Cup. He finished the regular season with the fifth-best save percentage in the NHL (.929) and was even better in the playoffs. In 20 playoff games he posted a 16-4 record to go with a .946 save percentage and took home the Conn Smythe Trophy which is given to the postseason MVP.
The Kings rewarded him shortly after the season ended with a massive contract extension that will pay him a total of $58 million ($5.8 million per season).
