Johan Franzen, come on down, because you're probably going to be the next contestant on the NHL's wheel of discipline.

Late in the third period of Detroit's 5-1 win in St. Louis on Thursday night, Franzen was ejected for spearing Blues forward David Perron, which you can see in the above clip.

The incident began during a puck battle behind the net when Perron came in and hit Franzen from behind into the glass, a play that resulted in Perron earning a minor penalty for boarding.

Franzen then turned around and jammed his stick right into Perron's midsection.

The NHL doesn't often suspend players for spearing, but this one was pretty obvious. And seeing as how it resulted in an ejection, it's a good bet that it's going to get the league's attention.
