Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall can probably expect to hear from the NHL's department of player safety very soon.

Hall was ejected late in the third period of Edmonton's 3-1 loss to Minnesota on Thursday night for kneeing Wild forward Cal Clutterbuck.

The NHL is sure to take a close look at the hit, and Hall, arguably Edmonton's best player, could be facing a suspension. Especially since Clutterbuck suffered an injury on the play, an important variable in how much punishment the league hands out (whether that's right or wrong is up for debate, but it's definitely part of the process).

The Oilers' next game is Saturday, at home against the Coyotes. Any suspension would have to be handed out before then.
