When the New York Rangers lost to the Montreal Canadiens earlier this week Rangers coach John Tortorella called it one of the worst games he had ever been a part of. Little did he know his team's next meeting with Montreal, a 3-0 loss on Saturday, would probably be even worse.

Not only were the Rangers blanked, they generated just 17 shots on goal and lost their top two defenseman in Ryan McDonagh and Dan Girardi to injury.

McDonagh was lost when he was hit by Montreal's Max Pacioretty, and Tortorella was not at all pleased with it.

"I'll ask the first question," said Tortorella to open his post-game press conference. "How high did Max Pacioretty jump on his hit? Over/under?"

Well, you be judge ...

Controversy over Pacioretty's hit and the height of his jump aside, the Canadiens themselves only registered 18 shots of their own and these past two games have been brutal to watch if you enjoy anything that resembles offense.

Here's hoping these two teams don't meet in the playoffs this year, strictly from an entertainment point of view.
