Oops: Ads in 'L.A. Times' celebrate Kings for Stanley Cup Final sweep

By Brian Stubits | CBSSports.com

Before Game 4 in Los Angeles, the area around Staples Center was rocking. People were out in force in their black and white sweaters, some with brooms in hand. The police presence seemed to be heightened in anticipation of what could be coming ... the first Stanley Cup in Kings history.

Only problem was the New Jersey Devils decided to spoil the party by winning Game 4. So it means that winning the Cup is going to have to wait for another day for L.A.

Apparently the advertisers in the L.A. Times didn't get the message.

This seems to happen pretty much every year in every sport when a team has the chance to finish it out but doesn't. Usually it happens on the East Coast, though, because deadlines come into play a bit more than on the West Coast, where there are earlier start times.

Maybe the 99 cent store can get those ads altered and run them again whenever/if the Kings do finish off the series. I suppose it's the least the Times could do.
