Kings' plan to withhold game stats from Devils gets sent to media by accident

By Adam Gretz | Hockey writer
DevilsKingsBetween periods and after every NHL game, coaches, players and media all get handed an updated stat sheet (one of these bad boys), which is compiled by the home team.

Apparently the Devils were a bit slow in getting the stats down to the Kings coaching staff between periods of Game 5 on Saturday night, and now that the series is back in Los Angeles the home team is out to even the score.

They even had an excuse ready to go, even if it sounds like something straight out of Office Space.

The only problem? Their diabolical plot was accidentally e-mailed to the media, completely removing the element of surprise in the newest battle of the series.

The email, as relayed by Chris Foster of the Los Angeles Times:
"Jersey PR (whether it was their fault or not) didn't get stats to our locker room until about two minutes left in the intermission. Our coaches were not happy about this. So we are going to do the same to them tomorrow.

"So unless you hear otherwise from me make sure their locker room does NOT get stats UNTIL about two minutes left to go in the intermission. Even if you literally have to eye the clock and wait. If they ask what's taking so long just tell them our copy machines are down."
The copy machines are down! PC Load Letter!

Frankly, this might be the most anger we've seen between the two teams in the entire series, which has been relatively clean and by the books.

And it involves some PR people and probably a couple of interns.
